What is Synergy Bariatrics?
Synergy Bariatrics is the weight management center inside ECMC, the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. ECMC's health services page lists it as a weight management center. It sees patients at the Northtown Center for Specialty Care, 30 North Union Rd., Suite 104, Williamsville, NY 14221. New patients are asked to call (716) 565-3990 ext. 100.
Its team includes board-certified surgeons, obesity medicine specialists, specialty pharmacists, registered dietitians and licensed clinical social workers. It does not name who writes prescriptions, so that is the first thing to ask. In its own words: "We are equipped to help you navigate insurance requirements and provide financial planning assistance to ensure access to care."
Much of the material is about weight loss surgery, including information seminars led by surgeons. Medication is the other track. It says it offers GLP-1 medications but does not say which ones. It does not mention hormone therapy, peptide therapy or longevity medicine. Google shows the center at 4.8 from 20 reviews, in the weight loss service category.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices or a consultation fee. It also does not say whether insurance is accepted, whether medication is part of any fee, or how cancellation works. It does say it helps patients work through insurance requirements and offers financial planning help, but that is not a price.
The wider hospital keeps a separate price line, 716.898.3272, open 8:00am to 4:00pm on weekdays. Its price information says those charges cover hospital services, not physician fees, so ask the program directly what its doctor visits cost. The hospital also runs a financial assistance program and a sliding fee schedule based on income, so ask whether either applies here.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with the prescriber. Ask who signs the GLP-1 prescription and whether you will meet that person before any medication is started. Ask which GLP-1 medications the program uses, and whether they are brand-name or compounded.
Then ask about money. Ask whether medication is included in any fee or billed separately, whether the program takes your insurance, and what the first consult, follow-up visits and lab work cost in cash. If there is a monthly plan, ask how to cancel and whether fees already paid are refunded.
Finally, ask about access. The clinic does not list hours for this location or say whether telehealth visits are offered, so confirm both before you plan a trip to Williamsville.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a hospital-based program where weight loss surgery and medication are both options, and you are ready to pin down prices before you commit. The program says it can help people whose BMI is 27 or greater, and it asks them to book a consult to talk through options. It is a weaker fit if you need prices, hours or telehealth confirmed before you call, or if you are looking for hormone or peptide care.

We have not yet collected published prices or prescriber credentials for this clinic. When we do, they will appear here with a link to the page they came from — or a note saying the clinic publishes none, which is itself worth knowing. Call them for a price in the meantime.
