What is LV Surgical Associates?
LV Surgical Associates is a multi specialty surgical group, so surgery is its main business. Its physicians work across general, bariatric, robotic, and vascular and vein care. The clinic has offices in Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump and North Las Vegas. It also appears under the names Las Vegas Surgical Associates and Las Vegas Surgery Associates, so you may see any of those.
Medical weight loss is one of its weight loss services, alongside gastric bypass surgery, sleeve gastrectomy surgery and bariatric revision surgery. The medications it names are semaglutide, sold as Ozempic or Wegovy, and tirzepatide, sold as Mounjaro or Zepbound. In its own words: "Based on this evaluation, our team will design a personalized treatment plan that can include prescription medications such as Ozempic or Mounjaro, that you will then take home with you." Surgical care starts with a consultation with a surgeon, who gives you a surgical plan to take to the patient coordinator for pricing and scheduling.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices, so there is no figure for medical weight loss, consultations or surgery. It does not say whether a monthly fee, if there is one, includes the medication. It does not say whether insurance is accepted, and it does not publish a consultation fee. Surgical pricing comes from the patient coordinator after the surgeon consultation, so you will not know the cost until you ask.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with who writes the prescription. The clinic lists a long roster of physicians, osteopathic physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, but it does not say which of them runs the medical weight loss program. Ask for the name and credentials of the person who will prescribe for you.
Next, ask whether the monthly price includes the medication. Ask what "take home with you" means in practice: whether you leave with a supply, how refills work, and whether the medication is dispensed in the office or through a pharmacy. Ask whether the medication is the brand name product or a compounded version.
Then ask what follow up visits and lab work cost, whether any follow up can be done by video, and whether insurance is accepted. Ask for the consultation fee for both medical weight loss and surgery. Finally, ask how cancellation works and whether there is a contract or membership term. The main line is (702) 258-7788.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a surgical group that also offers prescription weight loss medication, and you are ready to get written prices and the prescriber's name before you commit. If you are looking for a medication program with published monthly prices, you will need to get those answers from the clinic first.
