About Midwest Mind & Body Healthcare

What is Midwest Mind & Body Healthcare?

Midwest Mind & Body Healthcare is a practice at 131 N Washington St, Suite A, Papillion, NE 68046. The phone number is 531-217-5257. It offers mental health care, medical weight loss, hormone therapy and online prescriptions. Kimberly Wohlwend, APRN, FNP-BC, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is the founder and lead clinician and the prescriber. Weight patients are seen in person in Papillion or by telehealth in 16 states, and the weight program uses Zepbound, Wegovy and Foundayo. The clinic has a 5-star Google rating from 12 reviews. It does not publish clinic hours or how many years it has been open.

In its own words: "Every program is clinician-reviewed, not automated."

What does it cost?

The weight program charges $60 for the initial consultation and $60 a month after that, covering refills, follow-ups and messaging. Medication is not included. The pharmacy bills it separately, starting at $299 a month for Zepbound at 2.5 mg, $199 a month for the Wegovy injection at its introductory dose, and $149 a month for Foundayo at its entry dose.

Self-pay mental health visits are $300 for the first visit and $150 for follow-ups. Hormone therapy self-pay is $225 for the first visit and $125 for follow-ups. Online prescriptions carry a $50 service fee, with the pharmacy billed separately. Mental health visits are in-network with Aetna, BCBS, UnitedHealthcare, Midlands Choice and Nebraska Total Care. Hormone therapy is accepted with UnitedHealthcare and UMR. Eligible Part D members can get a $50 monthly medication copay through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program through December 31, 2027.

Cancellation requires 14 days written notice. Cancelling after the 1st of the month, or after that month's prescription has been written, takes effect in the next cycle.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask for the full monthly total at your starting dose, since the $60 fee leaves out the pharmacy bill. Ask whether your insurance covers the visits or the medication, because the clinic does not say. Ask whether a prescription would be brand-name or compounded, since its online prescriptions include custom-compounded medications. Ask who reviews and signs your prescription, and what labs cost, since labs may be required. Ask what a separate mood or hormone visit costs, because those are billed apart from weight visits. Confirm the cancellation terms in writing before you pay.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a nurse practitioner to oversee a medication-based weight plan and can pay the pharmacy cost yourself or through Medicare Part D. If you are counting on insurance to cover the medication, confirm coverage with the clinic before you book.
