About Omaha Med Spa & The OWL Diet

What is Omaha Med Spa & The OWL Diet?

Omaha Med Spa & The OWL Diet is a med spa at 16909 Lakeside Hills Ct., Suite 407, Omaha, NE 68130. Carter Abbott, MD, founded it over 19 years ago and is the only prescriber named. Its main work is aesthetic treatment, including Botox, fillers, microneedling, IPL and body contouring. Weight loss and testosterone therapy are two of its other services.

For weight loss, the clinic runs The OWL Diet (Omaha Weight Loss Diet), a food plan it pairs with GLP-1 medication or phentermine, with weekly visits. Its in-office GLP-1 injections are compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, each with vitamin B-12. It also names Wegovy and Zepbound as brand-name drugs patients may already get elsewhere. The office is open Mondays and Fridays 8 to 4, and Tuesday through Thursday 10 to 6, and it is closed on weekends. Its Google rating is 4.9 from 441 reviews.

What does it cost?

A one-time Hormone Consultation costs $175 for all new patients. Testosterone pellet implants start at $400 for women and $750 for men, per visit, and that price includes the medication. The OWL Diet's first month is $249 and includes a diet consultation. It does not say whether GLP-1 medication is part of that $249, and it does not publish a price for the injections or for any month after the first.

It does not say whether it accepts insurance or whether any visits are done by telehealth. On membership, it says in its own words: "You will make two more payments, 14 days apart, and then your membership is cancelled."

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes your prescription and who else will see you. Carter Abbott, MD is the named prescriber. Other team members appear in its reviews with no credentials given, so ask what each person is licensed to do.

Ask whether the $249 covers GLP-1 medication and what the second month costs. Ask which pharmacy compounds the injections and what they cost each month. Ask what labs, blood pressure checks and follow-up visits cost, for both the diet and testosterone. Ask how the membership ends, whether it stops on its own after the payments or whether you must cancel. Finally, ask whether it takes insurance, HSA funds or financing, since its menu lists financing without giving terms.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you plan to pay cash for weight loss or testosterone care, want the prescriber named before you book, and are comfortable asking about compounded medication and recurring fees. If you need every price in writing before you visit, call 402.614.5556 first and ask for the numbers it does not publish.
