What is Prime Recovery & Wellness?
Prime Recovery & Wellness is a clinic in Kansas City, Missouri, with a second office in Olathe, Kansas. Its main services are medical weight loss, hormone therapy and peptide therapy. It also offers aesthetics, IV therapy, IM injections, massage therapy and cryotherapy. It does not name longevity or anti-aging medicine among its services. Matt Karstetter founded the clinic with his sister Kim. It offers telehealth visits to people in Kansas and Missouri, and its weight loss program starts with a lab panel completed at any Labcorp location.
The clinic does not name the provider who writes its prescriptions. It says its care is overseen by licensed medical providers and board-certified providers, but it lists no names. Google shows a rating of 5 from 64 reviews. Several of those reviews name individual staff members, including a nurse.
This listing is for its Kansas City office at 9521 Northeast 79th St., Suite B.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program has the clearest prices. A $99 lab panel comes first, and it includes a virtual consultation with the medical provider. The clinic then lists two monthly programs, Program S at $199 a month and Program T at $299 a month. Its FAQ says the monthly price includes the medication, supplies and medical supervision.
The clinic does not publish a separate consultation fee, and it does not say whether it bills insurance. It gives no prices for hormone therapy or peptides, and it does not state cancellation or commitment terms for the weight loss program. Ask for those numbers in writing before you pay anything.
What should you ask before you book?
Start by asking who writes the prescription and what that person's credentials are, since no prescriber is named. Ask which medication the weight loss program uses. The clinic does not name it in its weight loss material, though its articles mention GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide. Ask whether the drug is brand-name or compounded. The medical disclaimer says its medications are made by compounding pharmacies, and it states, "These compounds are not FDA-approved." The weight loss material calls its medications FDA-studied, so ask which description applies to what you would receive.
Ask what the lab work and follow-up visits cost after the first panel. The FAQ describes weekly follow-ups at first and monthly visits later, so ask whether each visit is included in the monthly price. Ask how to cancel a monthly program and whether you must stay for a set period. If you plan to use the Olathe office, ask for its hours, since none are listed.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you plan to pay for weight loss or hormone care yourself and you are willing to get the prescriber's name, the medication's name and the cancellation terms in writing before you enroll. If you need every price published before you call, wait for the answers to the questions above.
