What is ChiroThin KC?
ChiroThin KC is a physician-supervised weight loss program run out of Gray Chiropractic, at 3800 S Elizabeth St, Suite F, in Independence, MO 64057. The phone number is (816) 795-1121. The program serves patients in Independence, Blue Springs, and Lee's Summit.
No prescriber is named, and the doctor who supervises the program is not identified. The plan is built around ChiroThin, a dietary supplement developed by ChiroNutraceutical, paired with six weeks of low glycemic index, anti-inflammatory eating using ordinary grocery store food. Two services are named: Concierge Weight Loss, which is the program itself, and Cost Per Pound, a comparison of what weight loss programs cost. In its own words: "A dedicated app for your phone allows you and your doctor to track and follow your progress."
Each participant has a weekly visit with the supervising doctor, where weight, blood pressure, and an eight-point body measurement are taken. Everyone is screened first, and some people may be prohibited from the program based on that screening. The office is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. More hours and weekends are coming soon.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. The program's own cost comparison cites $1500 (or more) as what other programs can charge, but it gives no price for ChiroThin KC itself. It states that supplements are not required and that online tracking and physician supervision are included. Because the plan centers on ChiroThin, ask whether the program fee covers the product. The free consultation is listed with no obligation. It does not say whether insurance is accepted, whether HSA or financing is available, or how cancellation works.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with who signs off on the plan. No prescriber is named, so ask for the supervising doctor's name and whether that doctor is licensed in Missouri. Ask whether any prescription medication is ever part of the program.
Next, ask for the full cost of the six weeks, and whether it includes the ChiroThin product, the weekly visits, and the app. Ask what lab work, extra visits, or follow-up cost after the six weeks end. It does not say whether telehealth is offered, so ask whether any visits can be done by video.
Exercise is somewhat discouraged during the six weeks, so ask the doctor how that fits your health history. Finally, ask how cancellation works and whether anything is refunded if screening rules you out.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live near Independence, Blue Springs, or Lee's Summit, want a six-week plan with weekly doctor check-ins built around a supplement and grocery store food, and are willing to get a firm price in writing before you commit. If you need a named prescriber or a published price before you pay, wait until the clinic provides them.
