What is Lakes Area IV Wellness Clinic?
Lakes Area IV Wellness Clinic is an integrative wellness, aesthetics and IV therapy clinic at 17021 Commercial Park Road Suite #5 in Brainerd, MN 56401. The phone number is 218-454-5248. Most of the listed menu is IV infusions and cosmetic treatments. Three of its services fall in the areas covered here: medical weight loss, hormone therapy (women's HRT and men's TRT), and peptide therapy. It also lists NAD+ infusions, chelation, ozone therapy, regenerative medicine, functional medicine, and leg compression therapy. It does not name a prescriber or publish any prescriber credentials.
The weight loss program uses compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. In its own words: "It's important to note that the use of compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide at Lakes Area IV Wellness Clinic is not FDA approved." Visits can be in clinic or by telehealth. Hours are Monday 9am to 5pm, Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday 9am to 5pm, and Friday 9am to 3pm. Saturday is by appointment only, and Tuesday and Sunday are closed.
What does it cost?
The GLP-1 program costs $299 for the first month. That price covers the initial consultation, a Styku 3D body scan, and one month supply of medication. Later months are priced by weekly dose, from $225 to $425 a month. The GLP-1/GIP program costs $375 for the first month, which covers a consultation, a Styku 3D body scan, one B12 injection, and one month supply of medication. Later months run from $275 to $575 a month.
Both programs include ongoing care every one to two months, in person, by telehealth, or by telephone, plus a 3D body scan at least every 8 to 10 weeks. Members also get 15% off oral supplements, discounted vitamin D and B12 injections at $15 each, and 15% off IV vitamin infusions. You can bring labs from your primary care provider, or have them drawn at the clinic for a cash pay weight loss panel of $115.
It does not say whether the monthly prices after the first month include medication. It does not say whether it accepts insurance, and it does not publish prices for hormone therapy or peptide therapy. The clinic lists financing and a refund policy, so ask for both terms in writing before you pay.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and what their credentials are, since no prescriber is named. Ask whether the monthly price after month one includes the medication. Ask which pharmacy compounds it and what testing it goes through, given the clinic's own statement that it is not FDA approved.
Ask what a follow up, a body scan, and a lab panel cost in months when you are not paying the first-month price. Ask whether the clinic takes insurance at all. For hormone therapy and peptide therapy, ask for the price of a first visit and of ongoing treatment. Finally, ask how cancellation works, whether there is a fee, and how the refund policy applies.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live in or near Brainerd, want a weight loss program that can be handled partly by telehealth, and are ready to pay cash for compounded medication the clinic itself describes as not FDA approved. It is a weaker fit if you need the prescriber's name and credentials before you book, or if you need insurance billing.
