What is Skin Med Spa?
Skin Med Spa is a med spa at 11724 Ulysses Lane NE #120 in Blaine, MN. Its main business is aesthetic treatment, including Botox and Dysport, dermal filler, Sculptra, microneedling, laser hair removal, chemical peels and HydraFacial. Semaglutide weight loss is one of its listed services. Google lists it as a medical spa, with a 4.9 rating from 310 reviews.
Bree Verheyen, APRN, MSN, is the owner and the one person named as a prescriber. Her About page lists her as a Nurse Practitioner since 2011, a Registered Nurse since 2005, and a licensed Cosmetologist/Esthetician since 2000. The weight-loss program uses Compounded Semaglutide / GLP-1 and is described as medically supervised, with a medical evaluation, labs, personalized dosing, progress monitoring and ongoing medication management.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for semaglutide, and it does not say whether any price includes the medication. It does not state a consultation fee. The prices it does publish are for Skin Club membership: a $79 membership fee at activation, credited to a Skin Bank balance, then a recurring $79 monthly fee. Members get 10% off full-priced products and services. Monthly fees are non-refundable, and the Skin Bank cannot hold more than $1000.00.
The clinic does not say whether it takes insurance or accepts HSA or FSA funds. The one payment option it names is Cherry, which splits purchases into monthly payments. Ask for Cherry's terms before you agree to anything.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who will write the semaglutide prescription. The clinic does not name a physician for it. Its About page also lists Dr. Heidi Robertson as Medical Director, without saying whether she prescribes weight-loss medication.
In its own words: "Your provider will determine whether semaglutide is medically appropriate for you before beginning treatment." Ask who that provider is and whether the evaluation is charged.
Ask whether the monthly price covers the medication, labs and follow-up visits. Ask what "compounded" means for the product you would receive, and who supplies it. Ask whether follow-up can be done by telehealth, which the clinic does not state. Ask which Saturday hours apply, since the contact page lists 9:00am to 1:00 pm while the other pages list 10:00am to 2:00pm, by appointment. Ask how to stop treatment, whether a Skin Club membership must stay active, and what Cherry charges. Ask about the no-show fee, which is deducted from the Skin Bank if you do not cancel or reschedule 48 hours ahead.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want weight-loss care inside a practice that also offers injectables and facials, and you are willing to have the price, the prescriber and the medication confirmed in writing before you commit. It may not suit you if you need published prices before you call.
