About West Michigan Plastic Surgery
What is West Michigan Plastic Surgery?
West Michigan Plastic Surgery is a plastic surgery practice with offices in Portage and Battle Creek, Michigan. Most of its work is surgical and med spa care, including breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck, BOTOX Cosmetic and CoolSculpting. Two of its services are covered here: a GLP-1 weight loss program and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Dr. Scott Holley, a board-certified plastic surgeon, is the one prescriber named for the weight loss program. Dr. Holley has provided care in the region for more than twenty years. It does not show whether he holds an MD or DO.
The weight loss program runs for four months. It starts with a free phone consultation with a weight loss coordinator, then an initial visit with Dr. Holley to review lab work. The first injection is given in the office, and after that you inject once weekly at home. Monthly in-person check-ins with the coordinator and an online tracking log are included.
This listing is for its Portage office at 8175 Creekside Drive, Suite 100.
What does it cost?
The GLP-1 package is $499 per month, and that monthly fee includes the medication. A one-time $100 physician consultation fee applies to the initial appointment with Dr. Holley. The clinic names CareCredit and PatientFi as partners for flexible payment options. It does not say whether it accepts insurance, and it does not state a cancellation policy.
It does not publish prices for hormone replacement therapy, surgery, or med spa treatments. Ask for a quote on any of these before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with who signs the prescription and what Dr. Holley's degree is, since his name is the only one given for prescribing. Then ask which GLP-1 medication you would receive, because no medication is named. The clinic describes its treatments two ways. In its own words: "The compounded weight loss medications offered by West Michigan Plastic Surgery are prepared by licensed pharmaceutical professionals and sourced from FDA-registered or accredited compounding pharmacies." Elsewhere it calls its GLP-1 treatments FDA-approved, so ask whether your medication is brand-name or compounded.
Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost beyond the monthly fee, and how to cancel partway through the four months. Ask whether insurance, HSA or FSA funds can be used, and whether any visit can be done by video or phone with the prescriber. For hormone therapy, ask the price and who manages the follow-up labs.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a cash-pay weight loss program overseen by a plastic surgeon, you can pay $499 a month for four months plus the $100 consultation fee, and you are comfortable giving weekly injections at home. It may not suit you if you need insurance billing or want a price for hormone therapy before you call.
