About Worcester BTX & Aesthetics
What is Worcester BTX & Aesthetics?
Worcester BTX & Aesthetics is a medical aesthetics practice run by nurse practitioners, with offices in Worcester and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. It started in 2021 and is listed on Google as a medical spa, rated 5 from 208 reviews. Most of its work is injectables: Botox, Dysport and Xeomin for wrinkles, lip flip, JUVÉDERM filler, SkinVive and vitamin injections. Of the medical services a patient might look for, it lists only weight loss. It lists no hormone therapy, peptide or longevity services.
The weight loss program uses compounded semaglutide. In its own words: "Our program uses compounded semaglutide." Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, which means the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. The weight loss consultation and injection clinic both point to Shrewsbury, and it does not say whether the program runs from the Worcester office.
Five prescribers are named: Jamie Kerr, DNP, FNP-C, who is also the owner; Shawna Steadman, DNP, listed as weight loss program lead; Lauren Bellerose, FNP-BC, MSN; Nicole Vona, MSN; and Ely Saad, FNP-BC.
This listing is for its Worcester office at 1149 Grafton St.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program starts at $395 a month. It does not say whether that covers the medication, so settle this first. Consultations are free. The clinic takes cash only and does not accept insurance, though a primary care provider may suggest a weight loss option that insurance could cover. The program can be paid in installments through Cherry financing. Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are $12 per unit at both offices. Filler is $650 per syringe, and the full cost is quoted before any treatment. SkinVive is $750 for two syringes, and vitamin injections are $25 each. It does not publish cancellation terms.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the $395 monthly fee includes the compounded semaglutide, and what the medication costs if it does not. Ask who writes the prescription and who reviews your blood work, since the program names Shawna Steadman for the in-person consultation. Ask which pharmacy makes the compounded medicine. The program asks for recent blood work and offers help scheduling labs, but it gives no prices, so ask what labs and follow-up visits cost. Ask whether the consultation can happen at the Worcester office and whether any visits can be done by video, which it does not say. Finally, ask how to cancel, and what the total comes to with financing.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are paying cash for cosmetic injections or a semaglutide program and can get to Worcester or Shrewsbury. It is a poor fit if you need hormone, peptide or longevity care, which it does not offer, or if you need your visits billed to insurance.
