About Profile MD
What is Profile MD?
Profile MD is a cosmetic surgery, medi-spa and laser practice at 484-A Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, MD 21146. Most of its work is cosmetic: laser treatments, cosmetic surgery, and medi-spa services such as Botox, dermal fillers, CoolSculpting, Hydrafacial, chemical peels and IV therapy. Medical weight loss is one of its services, listed alongside women's menopause management. Its Google listing is under medical spa, with a 4.8 rating from 505 reviews.
The two physicians named as prescribers are Dr. Jared Mallalieu and Dr. Ross VanAntwerp. Dr. Mallalieu is a board-certified general surgeon, and Dr. VanAntwerp is dual board-certified in internal and preventive medicine. Neither is given as an MD or DO. Dr. Mallalieu performs the initial evaluation for the weight loss program, which is described as physician-supervised. It uses semaglutide, a GLP-1 medication, and includes lab testing, nutrition and lifestyle coaching, and follow-up by in-office visit or telehealth check-in.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program costs $149 a month. Medication is billed on top of that, and Profile MD does not publish what semaglutide costs. In its own words: "Our pricing is affordable and competitive at just $149 per month for the program, plus the cost of medication as needed."
The initial consultation is free. Profile MD partners with Cherry for monthly payments. It does not say whether it accepts insurance or whether HSA or FSA funds can be used. Prescriptions are not auto shipped or auto billed, and cancellation terms are not published.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which physician writes and signs your prescription, and whether that person is an MD or a DO. Ask whether the $149 monthly fee covers the evaluation, lab work, follow-up visits and coaching, and what each costs if it does not. Ask whether the semaglutide is brand-name or compounded, and what it costs each month.
Ask whether Cherry financing can cover the medication as well as the program, and whether HSA or FSA funds are accepted. Ask what cancelling involves and whether a fee applies. Ask which states the telehealth check-ins are offered in, and ask for office hours, since none are listed.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a physician-supervised medication program run from a cosmetic practice, can pay the monthly fee plus medication yourself or through financing, and are comfortable getting prices and credentials in writing before you commit. If you need insurance billing or a posted medication price, call and ask those questions first.
