What is InShapeMD?
InShapeMD is a wellness clinic whose main work is medical weight loss, with hormone therapy, anti-aging care and peptide therapy alongside. The clinic describes its plans as medically supervised. Its office is in Severna Park, Maryland, and its about page says it has over 30 locations in 16 states, so ask which office you would be seen at. The clinic opened its first location in 2009. Chuck Hall and Lee Sallustio are the owners, and they also run HappyLee Fitness, the partner company for personal training and fitness center memberships. The weight loss menu has three programs. The Countdown Program is an HCG plan that includes a consultation, baseline lab work, a nurse practitioner visit, a 30 day supply of prescription HCG and four B-12 injections. The Natural Appetite Suppressants program includes a physician visit and a one month supply of appetite suppressants, but only for people who meet certain criteria. Burn & Boost lists no doctor appointment and no labs. Other services include testosterone injections for men, creams, gels or sublingual troche for women, Sermorelin, supplements, lab tests, corporate wellness and semaglutide.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. The initial consultation with the wellness consultant is complimentary. The Countdown Program lists a 30 day supply of prescription HCG among what is included, but gives no price for the bundle. It does not say whether it accepts insurance, and it gives no price for anti-aging care or Sermorelin. Ask for the full cost of each program in writing before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Who writes and signs each prescription, and does that person review your case before the first medication goes out? Burn & Boost has no doctor appointment, so ask who approves it.
Does a program's price cover medication every month, or only the first 30 day supply?
Are the HCG, Sermorelin and hormones compounded, and which pharmacy makes them? In its own words: "HCG has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as safe and effective in the treatment of obesity or weight control." Ask what that means for the plan you are considering.
What do follow-up visits and lab work cost, including the thyroid and IGF-1 hormone panel? Can any visit be done by telehealth?
How do you cancel a program, and what happens to medication you have already paid for?
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want in-person medical weight loss or hormone care in the Severna Park area and are willing to get prices, prescriber details and cancellation terms in writing before you pay. It is a weaker fit if you need a physician to be the prescribing doctor or if you want the full cost before you visit.
