What is Golden Wellness?
Golden Wellness is a cash-pay medical wellness and aesthetics practice at 6111 Highbridge Rd., Bowie, MD 20720. It describes itself as a medical facility for wellness and appearance. Most of its menu is IV hydration, vitamin injections and skin treatments, with Botox and injectables, dermaplaning, chemical peels and microneedling. In its own words: "The Golden Wellness program is designed to help you lose weight under the supervision of a doctor." It does not name the physician who prescribes. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. It does not say whether telehealth is offered, and it does not state how long it has been open.
What does it cost?
The weight-loss plans are priced weekly and include the medication. Phentermine is $115 a week. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are each $125 a week. A Weight Loss IV visit, which pairs a visit with IV vitamin therapy, is $99 per visit. The weight-loss plans are marked HSA/FSA accepted.
Its insurance answers do not agree. It says it does not accept insurance, yet an answer about coverage says visits will be billed as regular office visits. Ask which is true.
A $25 consultation fee is requested at booking to hold your appointment time. The pricing describes consultations as free. A $50 cancellation fee applies if you need to cancel. Membership plans run from $159 to $329, with two prices listed under member and non-member headings: $159 and $179 for ReVive, $229 and $249 for ReNew, and $299 and $329 for ReStore.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and for the name and license of that physician. The clinic does not name one, though the program says it is run under a doctor's supervision.
Ask whether the weekly price covers every visit, all lab work and any change in medication. Ask what happens if you stop after a month, and how much notice the $50 cancellation fee requires.
Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost outside the weekly fee. Ask which consultation fee applies, $25 or free, and how insurance fits, since the pricing and the coverage answer do not match. Ask whether you can get a receipt for HSA or FSA purposes, and whether telehealth is offered.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want an in-person, cash-pay weight-loss program in Bowie and will confirm the prescribing physician and total weekly cost before you pay. The program is described as "best suited for people looking to lose at least 15 lbs," so check that before you book. If you are mainly after skin treatments or IV therapy, weight loss is one service among many.
