Stem-Ross Weight Loss Center is a medical weight loss practice in Baltimore, Maryland. It was founded in 1994 and is family owned. What does it cost?
It does not take insurance. It accepts cash, credit cards, and HSA or flex spending accounts, and it says it takes many people's health reimbursement arrangements.
The phentermine initial consultation is $135. It includes two weeks of phentermine, a blood work-up, a blood pressure check and a B12 injection. Biweekly follow-up visits are $67. Once you move to monthly visits, the cost is $82 a month, which includes 28 pills of appetite suppressant. Optional weekly weigh-ins or B12 injections are $10 per visit.
The semaglutide program starts with an Initial Consultation Semaglutide at $280, which includes four weekly shots, a blood work-up, a blood pressure check and a B12 injection. The second month is $292, an optional third month is $372 and an optional fourth month is $452. The fourth month also requires a $15 blood test. Lipo B is $20 per injection and Lipo C is $25 per injection.
The Chestertown office lists a $150 initial consultation with one month of phentermine, $80 monthly visits, and semaglutide months of $293, $373 and $453.
It does not publish cancellation or commitment terms, and it does not say whether telehealth visits are offered.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs your prescription and who sees you at follow-up visits. Only Dr. Kfoury is named, and follow-ups are described as visits with unnamed medical staff.
Ask whether the semaglutide is brand-name or compounded, and where it comes from. Ask whether anything is charged on top of the $292, $372 and $452 months, and what the $82 monthly fee covers beyond the 28 pills. Ask how phentermine beyond the two weeks in the $135 consultation is billed.
Ask what follow-up lab work costs, since a blood test is required only after the highest semaglutide dose. Ask whether any visit can be done by telehealth, how to cancel, and whether you must commit to a set number of months. If you hope to use insurance, ask about the written prescription option the clinic mentions, which may be covered by your plan at the pharmacy.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you plan to pay cash or through an HSA or flex account, can get to Baltimore or Chestertown for in-person visits, and want the costs and cancellation terms in writing before you pay for a consultation.
