About Thrive Medical Aesthetics and Wellness

What is Thrive Medical Aesthetics and Wellness?

Thrive Medical Aesthetics and Wellness is a medical spa at 1263 Roosevelt Trail # 6 in Raymond, Maine. Most of what it offers is cosmetic: Botox and fillers, laser treatments, body contouring, facials, lash services, teeth whitening, a Japanese head spa treatment and vitamin injections. It also runs two medical programs. Its medical weight loss page says prescribed medications "may include semaglutide, tirzepatide or other medications to aid in appetite suppression." Its hormone program covers bioidentical hormones for women and testosterone for men.

The clinic does not name who prescribes. Its aesthetics page names Jen, who performs the procedures there, and the hormone page refers only to "our healthcare professional." Google lists the business as a medical spa with a 5 rating from 64 reviews. Consultations can be in person or by virtual visit for Maine and New Hampshire residents. It does not publish hours or say how long it has operated.

What does it cost?

The hormone program is the only one with published prices. The first step is a free 15 minute discovery call. The initial consultation is $150, and the initial lab analysis runs $200 to $250 at any Lab Corp draw center. Follow up labs are $70.

The monthly hormone subscription is $225, charged monthly with a 3 month minimum to start. That covers a month of hormones and supplies, shipped to your home. Paying up front comes to $640 for 3 months, $1255 for 6 months, or $2500 for a year. Teachers, military, EMS, nurses, doctors, police officers and firefighters with valid ID get 5% off.

It does not publish a price for the weight loss program, and it does not say whether the medication is included in any price. It does not accept insurance but takes HSA and FSA. In its own words: "No refunds will be given for services provided."

What should you ask before you book?

Ask for the prescriber's name and credentials before you pay the $150. No one who prescribes is named.

Ask whether the weight loss medication is included in the monthly fee, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. The hormone page says those medications come from a compound pharmacy, but the weight loss page does not say where its medications come from. Ask which pharmacy fills them.

Ask what the weight loss program costs. The weight loss consultation is listed as free, so ask whether the $150 applies only to hormone therapy.

Ask whether follow up labs are part of the $225 monthly plan or billed separately at $70. The weight loss page also says labs may be ordered before treatment, so ask what those cost.

Ask what happens if you cancel. With a 3 month minimum and a no-refund policy, ask what you owe if you stop after one month.

Ask for hours and how long the practice has been open, since neither is published.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want medical weight loss or hormone therapy from a practice that also does cosmetic work, you can pay cash or with an HSA or FSA, and you accept a no-refund policy. If you live in Maine or New Hampshire, virtual visits are an option. If you need a named prescriber or a published weight loss price before you call, ask those questions first.
