The Urgent Care is a walk-in urgent care practice in Southeast Louisiana that has been open since 2004. It has offices in New Orleans (Uptown and Mid-City), Gretna, Harvey and LaPlace, and it sees patients by video or phone from anywhere in Louisiana. Its main work is same-day care for illnesses, infections and injuries, with on-site X-rays and EKGs. What does it cost?
Weight loss pricing depends on the format. The weekly in-clinic program charges per prescription: $55 for 2.5 mg, $65 for 5.0 mg and $75 for 7.5 mg. The monthly virtual program starts with a $110 consultation that is non-refundable, then charges $220 per prescription at 2.5 mg or $250 at 5.0 mg. Follow-up visits are listed at $330 with 2.5 mg and $360 with 5.0 mg. The clinic does not say whether the medication is included in these prices.
Weight loss is cash pay. The weight loss page says: "Yes, we offer a payment plan option through CareCredit because insurance coverage is not accepted."
Other visits have published self-pay prices of $79 for a virtual visit and $120 for an office visit, which includes a full exam, diagnosis, medical advice and prescriptions if needed. Add-ons are priced separately, such as X-rays ($40 to $180), lab tests ($26 to $200) and STD/STI testing ($50 to $500). The clinic also lists many commercial, Medicaid and Medicare plans for other care, so check whether yours applies. It accepts cash, credit, check, contactless payment and CareCredit.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the prescription and what license that person holds, since no prescriber is named. Ask whether the weekly or monthly fee includes the tirzepatide, and whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. The weight loss search description also mentions semaglutide, but no semaglutide price appears in the program text, so ask whether it is offered and what it costs. Ask what lab work, follow-up visits and dose changes cost beyond the listed prescription price. Ask how cancellation works for the monthly program, and what CareCredit charges in interest and fees. Ask which hours the weight loss visits keep, since they are not listed separately.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you need walk-in or video care in Louisiana and can pay out of pocket for care your insurance does not cover. For the weight loss program, the page lists 18 as the minimum age and a BMI of 25 or above, so check those first. Then get the prescriber's name and the total monthly cost in writing before you pay the $110 consultation fee.
