What is Lexington Wellness & Weight Loss?
Lexington Wellness & Weight Loss is a medical practice at 2039 Regency Road, Suite 2, Lexington, KY 40503. Its co-owners, Shanna Meyers, APRN and Tracy Profitt, APRN, are the nurse practitioners who prescribe. The practice focuses on medical weight management and testosterone therapy through four services: Medical Weight Loss, Hormone Health, Men's Testosterone Therapy and Women's Testosterone Therapy. It has a 4.9 rating on Google from 48 reviews.
The weight loss medications it names are semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic), tirzepatide (Zepbound/Mounjaro), phentermine and low dose naltrexone (LDN). It can prescribe FDA-approved brand-name medications such as Wegovy or Zepbound when clinically appropriate, sent to a pharmacy or a manufacturer-direct program. Injectable plans may be given at home or at the Lexington office.
What does it cost?
All prices are monthly. Medical weight loss plans are $159 for oral weight loss, $249 for oral semaglutide, $299 for oral tirzepatide, $359 for semaglutide and $465 for tirzepatide. Micro-dose plans are $179 for semaglutide and $265 for tirzepatide, and they require a 3-month commitment. Men's and women's testosterone therapy are $159 each. The brand-name management plan is $49, and the practice says medication is extra: "Medication cost is paid separately from your LWW medical-management membership."
Maintenance plans run about 50% of standard monthly pricing, with no long-term commitment, for patients who have reached goal weight. Patients enrolled in both weight loss and hormone therapy may get 50% off the hormone membership. It does not publish a consultation fee. It does not say whether medication is included in the other monthly prices.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes and signs your prescription, and whether it is always one of the two nurse practitioners. Ask whether your monthly price includes medication, and what the medication costs on top. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, since the practice says compounded versions may be considered in some cases. Ask what labs and follow-up visits cost, and whether visits can be done by video or phone, which the practice does not say. Ask what the consultation costs, and how cancellation works after the 3-month commitment. Ask for full office hours too, since only the days are listed: the office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and phones run Monday through Friday.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want nurse practitioners to prescribe and follow your weight loss or testosterone treatment, you are ready to pay in cash or through a manufacturer program, and you can get to Lexington. If you need insurance to cover the prescription, ask before booking, because the practice says it does not complete insurance prior authorizations.
