About Select Health
What is Select Health?
Select Health is a clinic at 2530 Scottsville Rd. Ste 112 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It has served the area since May 2020 and describes itself as a med spa. Most of its listed services are aesthetic, including laser hair removal, injectables, facials, microneedling, and IV hydration. Its medical services are medical weight loss, hormone optimization (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy), and telehealth. Google lists it at 5 from 59 reviews.
Lena Gokey, APRN, NP-C, founded the practice and is its clinical director. Adam Jordan, DO, is also listed as a prescriber, but the clinic does not describe his role in patient care. Weight loss care starts with a 45 to 60 minute consultation with a Certified Nurse Practitioner and a full InBody body composition scan. The clinic does not name the weight loss medication it prescribes. On its wellness membership, the FAQ says: "Your monthly membership covers all standard office visits."
What does it cost?
The weight loss consultation is $69, one time. Monthly weight loss memberships are $139 for GOLD, $79 for SELECT, $59 for BASIC, and $39 for MAINTENANCE. The clinic does not say whether medication is included in those fees. Starting weight loss medication requires labs from the past 90 days. You can bring them or have them drawn at your visit for an additional fee, which the clinic does not list.
Hormone therapy starts with a $129 consultation and $225 in hormone labs, which include weight loss labs. The clinic does not publish a monthly hormone price. The hormone membership can be added to a GOLD or SELECT weight loss membership at no additional charge, or to a Wellness Direct Primary Care membership for $30. The VIP Membership is $699 and is valid for one year from purchase. Patients who skip the monthly membership can pay $65 per visit. The annual wellness exam with labs runs $95 to $150 for nonmembers.
Select Health does not bill insurance, so its charges cannot be submitted to your insurer for reimbursement. HSA and FSA accounts do not currently reimburse membership fees, according to the clinic. It does not publish cancellation or commitment terms.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which weight loss medication you would be prescribed, and whether it is brand name or compounded. Ask whether the monthly fee covers the medication itself. Ask who writes and signs the prescription, and what Dr. Jordan's part in your care is. Ask what follow-up visits and labs cost after the first month, and how a membership is canceled. Ask which states the telehealth option covers, since none are named. Ask about Tuesday hours, because the clinic's listings disagree on whether it is open from 9AM to 1PM or closed. Ask for the monthly hormone price before you book a consultation.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want medical weight loss, hormone therapy, and aesthetic services in one place and can pay out of pocket each month. It is not a fit if you need your insurance to cover the visit, since the clinic does not bill insurance.
