About Horizon Med Spa and Wellness
What is Horizon Med Spa and Wellness?
Horizon Med Spa and Wellness is a med spa with two offices, one in Shawnee, Kansas, and one at the Kansas City Country Club Plaza. Most of what it sells is aesthetic and spa work, including Botox and filler, Morpheus8, IPL, facials, massage and sauna and cold plunge sessions. Kim Losik founded the practice and leads the team. Its Google listing is in the medical spa category, with a rating of 5 from 171 reviews.
Medical weight loss and hormone replacement therapy are its two medical services. The weight loss program pairs prescription medication with lifestyle guidance, and the clinic names semaglutide and tirzepatide among its options. In its own words: "We can prescribe several medical weight loss medications and supportive supplements right here in our office." The hormone program offers bioidentical hormones by pellet, injection, cream or oral preparation for women and men. The clinic does not name the provider who writes prescriptions, and it does not give their credentials.
What does it cost?
The weight loss management membership is $349 a month, and the medication is included. It covers weekly GLP-1 injections, a weekly B12 or "Skinny Shots" injection, unlimited body composition scans, 2 infrared sauna and cold plunge sessions a month and a skin evaluation. Lower tiers are $199 a month for microdosed GLP-1 and $599 a month for high dose. The program starts with a $199 Wellness Consult and a $149 Lab Draw, and each weight loss follow-up is $75.
Hormone therapy starts with a $349 Initial Consult With Lab. Pellet therapy with supplements is $499 for women and $899 for men. Hormone memberships are $149 a month for women, $179 a month for women with progesterone, and $179 a month for men. The clinic does not say whether it accepts insurance or how memberships are canceled. It names financing but does not state the terms.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and what license they hold. Ask whether the $349 covers the medication every month, and whether the GLP-1 is brand-name or compounded, which the clinic does not say. Ask which of the two medications you would receive and how that choice is made. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost over your first year, and whether the membership has a minimum term.
Ask whether insurance or HSA cards are accepted, how cancellation works, and whether any visit can be done by telehealth, since the clinic does not address that. For hormone therapy, ask who does the evaluation and which labs are required before a pellet is placed.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want an aesthetic and spa practice that also runs a medical weight loss or hormone program, and you can get the prescriber's name and the membership terms in writing before you pay. It is a weaker fit if you need a primary care practice, or if you were looking for peptide therapy as a medical service. Its only peptide item is a $65 face mist sold in the shop.
