What is Advanced Aesthetics Medical Spa & Laser Center?
Advanced Aesthetics Medical Spa & Laser Center is a med spa at 14213 Metcalf Ave in Overland Park, Kansas. Its main work is skin care, injectables and laser treatments, with body contouring, chemical peels and facials alongside them. Medical weight loss is one of its services, next to vitamin injections with NAD+ and Gentleman's Services. The clinic has offered customized skin health programs for 16 years.
Its weight loss program uses GLP-1 peptide therapy. In its own words: "Our program utilizes advanced GLP-1 peptide therapies designed to support healthy, sustainable weight loss." The program is described as medically supervised, but no prescriber is named and no physician credentials are published. The GLP-1 medication is not named either. Its injectables include BOTOX®, Dysport and Juvederm®, and they are given by registered nurse injection specialists. The clinic has a 4.9 rating on Google from 169 reviews. It is open Monday from 9am to 5pm and Tuesday to Thursday from 11am to 7pm, and closed Friday to Sunday. Telehealth is not mentioned.
What does it cost?
The medical weight loss membership is $399 a month on a 4 Month Membership, with a $99 enrollment fee. Non-members pay $499 a month. Members also get nurse touchpoints and tracking, 2 B-12 injections a month, and 20% off fat destruction, cellulite reduction and muscle stimulation series. It does not say whether the monthly fee includes the medication. The medical weight loss consultation is free.
Other memberships run from $39 a month for injectables to $279 a month for lasers. Botox is listed at $11.50 per unit and Dysport at $4.50 per unit. It does not say whether it accepts insurance. It offers financing through CareCredit, with promotional financing on transactions of $200 or more, and through Cherry, which lists up to $10,000 with 0% options subject to approval.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes and signs the GLP-1 prescription, and what that person's medical license is. Ask whether the $399 monthly fee includes the medication or whether it is billed on top. Ask which GLP-1 medication is used, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. Its protocols are built from labs, but the cost of labs and follow-up visits is not published, so ask for those numbers.
Ask how the 4 Month Membership ends, whether the $99 enrollment fee is refundable if you cancel, and whether HSA or FSA cards can be used. Ask whether any part of the program can be done by telehealth.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want medical weight loss through a med spa that also does skin and injectable work, you can commit to $399 a month for 4 months plus the enrollment fee, and you will have the prescriber's name and the medication details in writing before you pay. If you want a physician named and credentials published, this listing does not give you that yet, so ask before you book.
