About Root & Rise Family Health
What is Root & Rise Family Health?
Root & Rise Family Health is a family medicine practice in Davenport, Iowa. Its office is inside Centered Therapies Suites at 2185 E 53rd St, Suite 4, Davenport, IA 52807. Allison Ralston, APRN, FNP-C, MSN is the nurse practitioner who prescribes. It is rated 5 on Google from 8 reviews.
Primary care is the core of the practice, for children, adults and older adults. It also offers postpartum and newborn care, women's health, medical weight management, IV therapy and wellness injections, functional medicine and specialty testing, telehealth and in-home visits. Weight management is one of eight services, not the whole practice.
Within weight management, it names GLP-1 medication management, phentermine and low-dose naltrexone (LDN), each only when clinically appropriate. It also works with a compounding pharmacy for additional customized medication options.
What does it cost?
Visits are priced one at a time. A weight management consultation of up to 60 minutes is $150. A follow-up of up to 30 minutes is $75, and a consultation of up to 90 minutes is $200. Prescription medications are not included in visit prices. They are billed separately through the dispensing pharmacy, and laboratory testing is billed separately too. It does not publish a price for GLP-1 medication, phentermine or LDN.
Membership comes in individual, two-person and family options. It does not list a fee for any of them. In its own words: "Membership requires a three-month minimum commitment." After that, you can cancel anytime before your next billing cycle. Annual memberships are paid in full and renew each year unless canceled before renewal.
It is in the process of becoming in-network with major insurance plans. It does not yet say which plans it will accept.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether Allison Ralston will be your prescriber for ongoing care, or whether someone else will handle refills and follow-up. Ask what your medication will cost each month, since medications are billed separately even for members. Ask whether the prescription is brand-name or comes from the compounding pharmacy.
Ask what follow-up visits and lab work will cost in total, not just the visit fee. Ask how cancellation works during the three-month minimum.
If you plan to use insurance, ask which plans are in network now and how billing will change once credentialing is finished. Its posted hours disagree on Thursday, so call to confirm the day before you plan a visit.
If you live outside Iowa, ask which states telehealth covers, because home visits are available throughout Iowa only. In its own words: "Telemedicine appointments may be available after hours; call to schedule."
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want primary care and weight management from one family practice, and you are comfortable paying per visit or for a membership with a three-month minimum. Confirm the medication costs and who will prescribe before you book.
