About Occupational Medicine Physicians
What is Occupational Medicine Physicians?
Occupational Medicine Physicians, known as OMP, is an occupational medicine practice at 1714 Charlestown New Albany Road in Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Its main work is employer health: DOT physicals, pre-placement exams, drug screens, breath alcohol tests, vaccines, lab tests and workers' compensation injury treatment. Weight loss is one of its services. In its own words: "OMP continues to provide occupational medicine, employer services and weight loss to hundreds of individuals each month."
The practice began more than 30 years ago and joined Norton Healthcare in 2014. After Norton stopped its occupational medicine services in June 2025, it was reborn in partnership with AirBioHealth. Google lists it at 3.9 from 67 reviews. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and closed on weekends.
Prescribers named by the practice are Dennis McClain, MD, medical director; Joshua T. Honaker MD, MBA, FAAP; Emily Wilson, APRN, who the practice says focuses on its personalized weight loss program; Sandra L. Kapso, APRN, ANP-C; Barbara Elliott, RN, MSN, APRN; and Elissa Grider.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program publishes its visit fees. The initial evaluation with labs is $249, or $199 if you have had labs within the past two months. The first and second follow-up visits are $75 each. The third follow-up and any after it are $60 each.
Medication is not included in those fees. The practice says the cost depends on dosing and is discussed at the first visit, and it does not publish a figure. Cash, credit card and FSA are accepted. The practice does not say whether it accepts insurance, and it does not state membership terms or a cancellation policy.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with the medication. The practice does not name the drug it uses for weight loss, though its blog has a post comparing injectable and oral semaglutide. Ask which medication you would be prescribed, whether it is brand-name or compounded, and what it will cost each month on top of the visit fees.
Ask who signs the prescription and who sees you at follow-up, since only one name is tied to the weight loss program. Ask whether the $75 and $60 follow-up visits cover prescription renewals, and what repeat lab work costs. Ask whether follow-ups can be done by video, since telehealth is not mentioned. Ask whether weight loss visits keep the regular hours, because the practice says those hours may vary. Finally, ask how to cancel or pause, and whether there is a minimum number of visits.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want an in-person clinic in Jeffersonville, you plan to pay with cash, card or FSA, and you are willing to get the medication cost and prescriber answers before you pay the first $249. It is less suited to you if you need video visits or a monthly price that includes the medication, since the practice does not say it offers either.
