What is Transform Me Med Spa?
Transform Me Med Spa is a cash-pay med spa with offices in St. Louis, MO and O'Fallon, IL. Most of what it offers is cosmetic: Botox, Dysport, dermal fillers, CoolSculpting, liposuction, laser hair removal, microneedling, chemical peels and breast augmentation, among others. Its weight loss offering is a gastric balloon program, and it is the only weight loss service it lists. It does not list hormone therapy or peptide therapy. Its Google listing shows a rating of 3 from 4 reviews.
It describes its physicians as board certified in plastic surgery, aesthetics, anti-aging medicine and regenerative medicine, and it notes that its doctors and nurses have over 20 years of combined experience. On weight loss, it offers this in its own words: "Our physicians are also board certified in obesity and nutritional medicine, and offer an extensive array of endoscopic, medical and surgical options for the management of obesity." The only prescriber it names is Dr. Ahmed. The balloon page calls him a surgeon and gives no further credentials for him. The physicians it describes as board certified in obesity medicine are not named.
The balloon is the Orbera intragastric balloon, offered in collaboration with affiliates at the Center for Gastrointestinal Health. The clinic describes placement by endoscopy under sedation, a 12 month follow-up program, removal about six months in, and monitoring for six months after removal. It does not say which office offers the balloon.
This listing is for its O'Fallon office at 741 Insight Ave.
What does it cost?
Botox is $12 per unit with a 10 unit minimum. Xeomin is $11 per unit with a 10 unit minimum. Dysport is $4 per unit with a 30 unit minimum. Its Prime membership lists Botox at $11 per unit. Consultations are free, and you pay only for the Botox that is injected. CoolSculpting is $750 per area, and it accepts all major credit cards.
It does not publish prices for the balloon or any other medical weight loss care. It does not say whether a balloon price would cover the device, the medication, sedation or follow-up. It does not state a consultation fee for weight loss care, and it does not say whether it accepts insurance or offers financing. The monthly fee and terms for the Prime membership are not stated either.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes and signs the prescription for any medication in the balloon program, and what Dr. Ahmed's credentials are. Ask whether one of the physicians board certified in obesity medicine will be your doctor, and which office offers the balloon. Ask whether the endoscopy is done by the affiliated physicians at the Center for Gastrointestinal Health, and whether that practice bills separately.
Ask whether the balloon price includes the device, sedation, placement, removal and the 12 months of follow-up. Ask what medications, if any, are part of the program, and whether they are brand-name or compounded. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost, whether virtual follow-up is offered, and for the office hours, which are not listed.
If you join the Prime membership, ask for the monthly fee, the contract length and how to cancel, in writing, before you pay.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cosmetic work such as Botox or CoolSculpting and also want to ask about a balloon program directly, with the answers in writing before you pay. It is a weaker fit if you need hormone therapy or peptide therapy, which it does not list, or if you need a published price for weight loss care before you book.
