About Associated Physicians Group
What is Associated Physicians Group?
Associated Physicians Group, or APG, is a multi-discipline medical practice with offices in Alton, Edwardsville, O’Fallon and Swansea, Illinois. Google lists it as a medical clinic with a rating of 4 from 90 reviews. Its services are concierge primary care, primary care, physical therapy, pain management, Medx and weight loss. It also offers hormone replacement therapy through the Biote Method at its Alton and O’Fallon offices.
Christopher Green, MD, is APG's Medical Director, and its concierge primary care is built around him. Michael Babinski, AGPC-NP, is a Certified Biote Provider. Those are the two prescribers named. APG does not name the prescriber for its semaglutide program. That program offers sublingual semaglutide, a liquid placed under the tongue rather than injected. The hormone program uses pellets placed under the skin. In its own words: "Your APG provider at our O’Fallon & Alton Locations inserts these tiny pellets under the skin during a simple, in-office procedure."
What does it cost?
The semaglutide program starts at $300 for the first month, billed monthly. APG does not say whether that price includes the medication. Later months cost a little more, depending on how much medication is needed, and APG says that will be explained on the first phone consultation. An optional add-on, Orthomolecular HiPhenolic, costs $45.50 for 60 capsules.
The first step is a free informational consult, booked by calling (888) 363-8333. The fee for the in-person visit is not stated. Insurance does not cover sublingual semaglutide at this time. APG does not say whether it accepts insurance for its other services. It does not publish prices for hormone therapy or concierge primary care, and it does not mention financing, HSA payment, membership terms or cancellation.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the semaglutide prescription and what that provider's credentials are, since APG does not name one. Ask whether the $300 monthly fee includes the medication and what the later months will cost. Ask whether the semaglutide is compounded, which pharmacy fills it, and whether that pharmacy is licensed.
Ask what the follow-up phone visits and any lab work cost, and whether follow-ups can stay by phone without changing the price. For the hormone program, ask what the health assessment, labwork, consultation and each pellet insertion cost, and how often insertions are needed. Ask whether any of these visits can be billed to insurance. For any ongoing plan, ask how you cancel and whether there is a minimum term. If you want the Dexa BMI scan, which APG lists at its Alton location only, ask its price.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live near Alton, Edwardsville, O’Fallon or Swansea, want several kinds of care under one practice, and are ready to pay cash for programs your insurance will not cover. APG describes its semaglutide program for adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition. Before you commit, get the prescriber's name and a written price that says whether the medication is included.
