About ModoGen Medical

What is ModoGen Medical?

ModoGen Medical is a medical practice offering weight loss and men's health care, along with joint mobility and skin rejuvenation treatments. Men's health covers testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and erectile dysfunction (ED). The business is operated by Members Only MedSpa, LLC, doing business as ModoGen Medical.

Charles Arakaki, M.D. is the only prescriber it names. Its weight loss plans use semaglutide with B12, and it compares that medication to Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro. It offers telehealth visits in Hawaii, Texas, Washington and Utah, and in-person visits in Hawaii. In its own words: "With our convenient telehealth consultations, you can privately meet with our medical team anywhere in Hawaii, Texas, Washington, or Utah using just your phone and an internet connection."

It does not publish a street address, phone number or opening hours. It has a Google rating of 4.8 from 37 reviews.

What does it cost?

Its weight loss payment plans are as low as $199 a month. All weight loss plans include the Semaglutide + B12 medication, telehealth office visits, medical monitoring and lab work. The initial medical consultation is free.

It does not file claims with any insurance carriers for services or medication. Some treatment plans may qualify for third party financing, and its TRT page mentions financing with low monthly payments. Monthly fees are charged automatically to a card on file on the 1st of each month. In its own words: "All weight loss programs are month-to-month commitments; however discounts may be provided for those who commit to and purchase multiple months upfront."

It does not publish prices for TRT, ED, joint or skin treatments.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether Charles Arakaki reviews and signs each prescription, and who you will see at follow-up visits. Ask whether the $199 plan covers the medication at every dose, and whether the price changes if your dose does. Ask whether the semaglutide is a brand-name product like Wegovy, Ozempic or Mounjaro or a compounded version, and which pharmacy fills it.

Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost beyond the plan. Ask for TRT and ED prices before any visit. Ask how a month-to-month plan is cancelled, and what the late cancellation fee is, since the terms allow fees for appointments canceled within 24 hours. Ask whether you can submit receipts to your own insurer, and whether it can see patients in your state if you live outside Hawaii, Texas, Washington and Utah.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you live in Hawaii, Texas, Washington or Utah, want a weight loss plan with telehealth visits, and are comfortable paying for care yourself. Men considering TRT or ED treatment should get prices before booking, since none are published for those services.
