What is Aloha Urgent Care & Pain Clinic?
Aloha Urgent Care & Pain Clinic is a walk-in urgent care center and pain clinic on Level 2 of the International Market Place, at 2330 Kalakaua Ave, Unit #202, in Waikiki, Honolulu, HI 96815. Its main work is same-day care for illnesses and injuries, with on-site lab testing, procedures, IV therapy, wound care and pain injections. Weight loss is one of its fourteen listed services. Dr. Sung S. Yang is the founder and lead physician. He is listed with an M.D., and he moved to Hawaii in 2010 to open the practice. The weight loss program is physician-supervised and uses GLP-1 and GIP medications with nutritional guidance and on-site lab monitoring. In its own words: "This is a physician-supervised medical weight loss program." The clinic does not say which GLP-1 or GIP medication it prescribes.
This listing is for its Honolulu office at 2330 Kalakaua Ave, Unit #202.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for the weight loss program, and it does not say whether a consultation fee applies at the first visit. It offers a special discount for uninsured patients but does not state the amount. Follow-up consultations are included, but what that covers is not explained. It describes itself as a direct-pay practice: "We operate as a direct-pay clinic, which means our pricing is transparent and straightforward." Whether the medication is part of any price is not stated, so get that answer before you pay anything.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the monthly price includes the medication, the visits and the lab work, and what the lab work costs if it is not included. Ask which GLP-1 or GIP medication would be prescribed, and whether it is a brand-name product or a compounded one. Ask how the uninsured discount works and what it would come to for you. Ask whether follow-up visits happen in person, by phone or by video, and whether they cost extra. Because the clinic does not say whether it accepts insurance, ask that directly as well. Finally, ask how cancellation works and whether there is a minimum term.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a physician-led weight loss program you can start with a walk-in visit in Waikiki, and you are comfortable asking for the full cost before you commit. If you need published prices or a clear answer on insurance before you book, call first and get those answers in writing.
