What is Progressive Medical Center?
Progressive Medical Center is an integrative and functional medicine practice at 4646 North Shallowford Rd in Atlanta, GA 30338. It operates from a 16,000-square-foot clinical facility and reports more than 45,000 patients treated over 27 years. Gez Agolli, DrPH, founded it and serves as founder and managing director. Its team is described as physicians, nurse practitioners, and naturopaths, but no prescriber is named for any program, so ask who that is.
In its own words: "Over 80% of the patients who come to PMC have been in the same place." The practice says most of its patients have already been to other providers.
Weight loss is one of many services, which also include diagnostic testing, IV therapy, hyperbaric oxygen, chiropractic care, and men's and women's health. The weight loss program names semaglutide, a GLP-1 medication given as weekly injections, and pairs it with diagnostic testing, Styku 3D body scanning, and nutritional counseling from registered dietitians. Hormone therapy is bioidentical and offered to men and women. Peptide therapy and longevity and anti-aging are listed, but the practice gives little detail on what either involves.
The phone number is (770) 676-6000. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, and Friday, 8:30am to 2:00pm. Patients travelling from out of town can get help with scheduling and accommodations from a patient navigation team.
What does it cost?
Progressive Medical Center does not publish prices. It does not publish a consultation fee, and it does not say whether a program fee includes medication. It also does not say whether it accepts insurance. It lists an Insurance & Financing page, so read that before you call. Then ask for the full cost of a first visit, including labs, before you book anything.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which clinician signs the prescription for semaglutide and who manages your follow-up visits. Ask whether the program fee covers the medication or whether the drug is billed separately. Ask whether the semaglutide is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask what the diagnostic panels, follow-up visits, and lab work cost, and whether each is billed on its own. Ask whether the practice accepts your insurance plan.
Ask whether any visit can be done by video. The menu lists virtual health coaching, which is a different thing from a virtual medical visit. Ask how a program is cancelled and what, if anything, is refunded. For peptide and longevity programs, ask what is given, how often, and who monitors it.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want diagnostic testing built into a weight loss, hormone, or peptide program, and you are willing to get prices, the prescriber's name, and the medication terms in writing before you pay anything. It is a weaker fit if you need published prices or a named prescriber before you pick up the phone.
