What is PHC Health and Wellness?
PHC Health and Wellness runs three clinics, in St. Petersburg, Dade City and Wilton Manors, Florida. It has been serving Florida communities for over 25 years. What does it cost?
The weight program lists semaglutide starting as low as $150 and tirzepatide starting as low as $175. It does not say whether those are weekly or monthly amounts, or whether the medication is included. The first consultation is free. Primary care membership is $80 a month for ages 18 to 39, $90 for ages 40 to 64 and $120 for ages 65 and up. The membership covers primary care and is not health insurance. It does not publish prices for hormone therapy.
PHC accepts most major insurance plans, including Florida Blue, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, Florida Medicaid and Oscar. It also offers cash pay and financing. In its own words: "We provide transparent, predictable self-pay pricing so you are never surprised by unexpected costs." Cancellation terms for the membership are not published.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who prescribes at the location you plan to use. No prescriber is named for St. Petersburg, and the weight program is run with an outside med spa, so ask who the treating clinician is. Ask whether the $150 or $175 figure is per week or per month, whether it includes the medication, and whether that medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask whether your plan covers GLP-1 medication, and whether the weight program bills insurance at all. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost, because neither is priced. If you join the primary care membership, ask how to cancel. For hormone therapy, ask for prices before the first visit, and ask whether your first consultation will be by telehealth or in person.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want weight management or hormone therapy from a clinic that also provides HIV, STI and primary care, and you are willing to confirm who prescribes and what the monthly figure covers before you pay. If you need a published price for every service before you call, this one does not publish enough yet.
