About Optimal Wellness

What is Optimal Wellness?

Optimal Wellness is mainly an IV hydration and vitamin infusion clinic with locations in Wesley Chapel and Tampa, Florida. Medical weight loss is one of its services, alongside vitamin injections, peptides, a head spa and lab testing. Wesley Chapel takes walk-ins, and Tampa visits are by appointment. Its Google rating is 4.9, from 244 reviews.

The weight-loss programs use semaglutide and tirzepatide, each given as a once-weekly injection. The first consult can be in person or by telehealth. No prescriber is named, so ask who writes the prescription. The programs use compounded preparations, which are not FDA-approved to prevent, treat or cure any condition. In its own words: "You talk it through with a provider who builds a game plan around what is right for you, not a template."

What does it cost?

The semaglutide program is $250 a month and the tirzepatide program is $400 a month. Those prices include provider supervision from start to finish, nutritional guidance and meal planning, and hormone-balance support. The monthly price does not say whether the medication itself is included. Bloodwork is billed separately, and no consultation fee is published.

IV drips run from $60 to $300, vitamin injections start at $20, and Express IVs run from $65 to $140. The Zen Scalp Ritual head spa is $120 for 60 minutes or $150 for 90 minutes, offered on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays at Wesley Chapel. Payment through CareCredit financing is accepted. It does not say whether it takes insurance. The terms of sale are not yet written, so cancellation and commitment terms are unknown.

What should you ask before you book?

Start with the prescriber. Ask who writes the prescription and get that provider's name and credentials before you book. Nobody is named for the weight-loss programs, so this comes first.

Ask whether the $250 or $400 covers the medication, or whether the drug is billed on top of it. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy makes it. Get that answer in writing on your treatment plan. Then ask what the consult, follow-up visits and bloodwork cost each month in total. Ask whether there is a minimum commitment and how to cancel or get a refund, since those terms are not yet written. If you plan to pay with CareCredit, ask how the monthly payments line up with the program price.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a drip, vitamin injection or medical weight-loss program in Wesley Chapel or Tampa, you are paying out of pocket, and you are willing to get the prescriber's name, the medication source and the cancellation terms in writing before you pay. If you need those answers before you commit, ask before you book.
