What is FIT?
FIT is a medical weight loss clinic at 2770 Capital Circle NE in Tallahassee, Florida, behind Bumpa's Restaurant. The business is FIT Weight Loss & Spa, Inc. Glenda Cato established it in 2007 as First Impressions, Too, and it relaunched as FIT Weight Loss & Spa in 2016.
Medically supervised weight loss is its main service. It also offers wellness support, vitamin injections and aesthetic treatments, including BOTOX and the Latisse lash treatment. The weight loss program starts with a consultation, a blood panel and an electrocardiogram. What does it cost?
It does not publish a price for semaglutide or for its weight loss program. It does not say whether medication is included in any price, what the consultation costs, whether it accepts insurance, whether it offers telehealth, or what its cancellation terms are.
Its program requires weekly visits. In its own words: "Our program requires a weekly scheduled visit to talk about your progress and receive your weekly order of appetite suppressants and supplementary injections."
The prices it does publish are for injections. Vitamin B12 is $25 per injection or $125 for six for people who are not weight loss members. The Fat Burner (MICC) is $40 per injection or $175 for five, and Biotin is $30 per injection or $125 for five. Current weight loss members can ask about special pricing.
What should you ask before you book?
Who is the physician who approves and prescribes the semaglutide and the prescription tablets? The clinic does not name one. Ask for a name, and ask whether you will see that physician at the consultation and at weekly visits.
Is the weekly semaglutide included in the program price, or billed on top? What is the total each month?
Is the semaglutide brand-name or compounded? The clinic lists only "SEMAGLUTIDE."
What does the first visit cost? It takes about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes and includes a blood panel, an electrocardiogram and a first B12 injection. You must fast for six hours before the blood work.
Does it accept insurance? Does it offer telehealth? If you miss a weekly visit, are you still charged? How do you cancel? Ask for the Weight Loss Consumer Bill of Rights it mentions, and read it before you pay.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want in-person medical weight loss in Tallahassee, can keep a weekly appointment, and want the prescriber, the monthly total and the cancellation terms in writing before you pay anything.
