What is Christie MD?
Christie MD is a physician-run clinic at 2191 9th Avenue N, Suite 240, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Heather Christie, MD, is board-certified in Family Medicine, founded the practice, and is the one physician named as its prescriber. The clinic describes itself as functional and aesthetic medicine, and its main work is functional medicine and direct primary care. Google lists it with a 4.9 rating from 33 reviews.
Weight loss programs are one of its services, alongside hormone replacement therapies and longevity protocols using peptide therapies. It also offers health coaching, supplements and herbal recommendations, aesthetics and anti-aging treatments, IV therapy, same day sick visits, and telehealth. The clinic does not name the weight loss medications it uses, and it does not say which hormones or peptides it offers. Dr. Christie has practiced as an attending physician since 2008.
What does it cost?
Christie MD does not publish prices. Its discovery call is complimentary and is listed as a $300 value. The clinic does not bill insurance. In its own words: "We do not bill insurance companies." Expect to pay the full cost yourself.
Its ongoing model is membership, with standard programs running a minimum of 3 to 6 months. The membership listing includes a 60 minute intake visit, follow-up visits of 30 to 60 minutes, and three Myers Cocktail IV infusions in its Vitality Reset Program. Lab testing is not included and is billed by the individual labs. The clinic does not say whether medication is included in any program. Reschedules and cancellations need at least 2 business days' notice.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes each prescription. Dr. Christie is the named prescriber, so ask whether she signs every prescription and how you reach the team between visits.
Ask whether the membership fee covers medication or whether it is billed separately. Ask whether any hormone, peptide, or weight loss medication is brand-name or compounded, meaning mixed by a pharmacy rather than made by the manufacturer.
Ask for the membership price and a realistic first-year total, including labs, since the labs bill you directly. Ask which tests are likely to be ordered and what each one costs.
Telehealth is offered, but patients must be seen in person at least once a year, and the first membership visit must be in person. Ask where that visit takes place and what travel it will involve. Office hours are not listed, so ask for them when you call. Ask what happens if you cancel late.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want physician-led, cash-pay ongoing care with longer visits, you can commit to at least 3 to 6 months, and you are comfortable paying for labs and medication without a published price list. It is a weaker fit if you need a single prescription quickly or want to see full pricing before you call.
