What should you ask before you book?

Start with the consultation fee. The clinic lists $149, but its blog invites readers to book a "no cost consultation," and its homepage says "free consultation." Ask which applies before you book.

Ask whether the $500 monthly fee includes the medication. If it does not, ask what a typical month costs once your dose is set. Ask who signs the weight loss prescription. Denise Mackler is the only physician named, and the weight loss material does not say who prescribes. Ask whether the medication is a brand-name product or a compounded version. The material names Ozempic and Wegovy, but it does not say which product you would receive.

Ask who gives the weekly shots and what happens when you miss a dose. The blog says a nurse gives them in the office and that a travel plan exists for missed doses. Ask whether any visits can be done by phone or video, since remote care is not described. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost. Finally, ask how to cancel, and what the clinic means by "measurable progress" in its 60-day promise, since treatment continues at no extra cost until that progress is seen.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want skin, body and weight loss care in one downtown office, you plan to pay cash, and you are willing to get the monthly total, the prescriber and the cancellation terms in writing before you start. It is a weaker fit if you need a named physician managing your weight loss prescription from the start, or you need a clear cancellation policy and cannot get one.
