What is MD PRP?
MD PRP is a cash-pay medical practice at 4020 Sawyer Road, Suite A, Sarasota, FL 34233, inside the Sarasota Commons Medical Group building. Its main focus is platelet rich plasma (PRP), a treatment that uses a patient's own blood platelets, injected into areas with pain or injury. The clinic also runs a mobile clinic unit that visits patients at home. Its listed services include primary care and personalized integrative medicine, arthritis and sports injury therapy, IV nutrition and antioxidant therapy, natural hair loss therapy, weight loss peptide therapy, facial rejuvenation, regenerative medicine, and a service listed as Penile Shot. Weight loss is one service among these, not the whole practice.
Dr. Mena Ayoub, MD is the prescribing physician. The clinic describes him as a Board-Certified Physician who trained in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The weight loss program uses semaglutide, which is described as FDA approved, and Methionine Inositol Choline (MIC) with a B shot. In its own words: "The weight loss program is led by our MD." The lifestyle plan that comes with it can be done without the peptide therapy.
The office is open Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday, 8 am to 2 pm, by appointment only. It is closed Saturday and Sunday, though home visits can be arranged on Saturday. Google lists the clinic at a 5 rating from 30 reviews. The clinic does not say how long it has been open.
What does it cost?
MD PRP does not publish a price for weight loss, and it does not say whether the medication is included in any price. It also states no consultation fee and does not say whether it accepts insurance. It offers zero interest payment plans for PRP injections, and it offers membership pricing for its primary care, PRP, antioxidant and IV services, with details available by inquiry. It gives no figures for any of them. Ask for the full cost in writing before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the prescription for the weight loss medication and whether visits can be done in person, by video, or both, since it does not say whether telehealth is offered. Ask whether the program fee includes the semaglutide and MIC or whether the medication is billed on top. Ask whether the semaglutide is brand-name or compounded, and how often the injections are given and for how long. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, whether insurance or an HSA can be used, and how to cancel a program or membership, including any fee. If you are also considering PRP or home visits, ask the same questions about those.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a physician-led weight loss program, are ready to pay cash for it, and would also value PRP or home visits. It is a weaker fit if you need a firm price before you commit, since none is published for weight loss.
