About Concierge Bariatrics

What is Concierge Bariatrics?

Concierge Bariatrics is a weight loss practice at Laurel Run Professional Center, 2100 SE 17th St. Ste. 901, Ocala, FL 34471. Reginald Griffin, MD, is its owner and founder and the only prescriber it names. Weight loss is its main focus, and it also offers direct primary care, in-office procedures and Eversense 365 implantable glucose sensors. It has a 4.9 rating on Google from 41 reviews.

It lists walk-in consultations with Dr. Griffin before weight loss surgery or medically guided weight loss, plus monthly postoperative classes. The medications it names are semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide, along with the peptides AOD-9604, BPC-157, CJC-1259, Ipamorelin/Sermorelin and PT-141. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9 to 5 and Friday from 9 to 2. It does not publish how long it has been open.

What does it cost?

Most prices are monthly or per visit. Semaglutide and tirzepatide injections are a minimum of $150 a month, sublingual semaglutide is a minimum of $190 a month, and retatrutide is a minimum of $350 a month. Peptide injections start at $300 a month, and Vitamin D injections are $100 a month. Direct primary care is $150 for the initial visit and $75 for later visits, or $2400 per family member per year for the annual subscription, all ages accepted.

In-office procedures are $250 per lap band adjustment, $500 for lipoma removal, $300 for abscess drainage, and $100 each for skin tag and wart removal. Eversense 365 is $400 for insertion, or $500 for removal and insertion, paid in cash. It says most insurance plans cover Eversense, with a co-pay often $99. For surgery, it lists a self-pay price of approximately 17k.

In its own words: "Dr. Griffin is an in network provider with most insurance companies."

It accepts cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay and all credit cards, and it offers Prosper Healthcare Lending for financing. It does not say whether medication is included in the weight loss or peptide prices, or whether weight loss visits are billed to insurance. It does not publish cancellation or renewal terms for the annual subscription.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $150 medication minimum includes the drug itself, and what changes the price over time. Ask whether the $300 peptide price includes the peptide, and whether each product is brand-name or compounded. Ask who writes and adjusts each prescription, and what follow-up visits and lab work cost. Ask which procedure the approximately 17k self-pay surgery price covers, and which network surgeon would perform it. Ask whether telehealth is available, whether weight loss visits can go through insurance, and how to cancel a monthly plan or the $2400 annual subscription, including renewal terms.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want in-person weight loss care in Ocala from a practice led by a physician with weight loss surgery training, and you are ready to get the monthly price, what it covers and the cancellation terms in writing before you pay.
