About Pabst Personal Care, PLLC
What is Pabst Personal Care, PLLC?
Pabst Personal Care, PLLC is a Direct Primary Care and walk-in practice at 25050 W Newberry Rd in Newberry, FL 32669. David J Pabst II, PA-C is the listed prescriber. He grew up in Newberry and worked in emergency medicine before opening the practice. Weight loss is one of several services, alongside primary care memberships, walk-in visits, employer plans, DOT and sports physicals, procedures, and labs and testing.
The weight loss program names semaglutide and tirzepatide as GLP-1 options for appropriate patients, and it mentions oral medications as well. Each program starts with a medical evaluation and includes regular follow-up, typically monthly, in the office or by telehealth. In its own words: "We can administer your injection in our office at no additional charge as part of your weight loss membership." Office hours are Monday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, plus every other Wednesday on the same hours, with other times by appointment. It has a Google rating of 5 from 25 reviews. It lists Newberry, Jonesville, Archer, Alachua, High Springs, Trenton, Chiefland and Gainesville as areas it serves.
What does it cost?
The weight loss membership is $40 a month. It covers medication management, dose adjustments, progress monitoring, follow-up, and in-office injections if needed. Medication is purchased separately. The only medication price it publishes is a starting figure: injectable GLP-1 medications start at $100 for 6 weeks. It does not publish prices for oral medications or DOT physicals.
Direct Primary Care is $75 a month. Walk-in visits are $100, and some procedures, tests, labs or medications cost extra. Sports physicals and EKGs are $40 each, or $70 together. Labs are not included in the weight loss membership. Members can have them done in the office at discounted self-pay prices plus a $30 blood draw fee. The first consultation is free.
It does not bill insurance for office visits or memberships. Its FAQ says office fees are traditionally qualified HSA expenses. Memberships may be canceled under the membership agreement, traditionally with 30 days notice after an initial 3-month minimum. It does not publish a cancellation fee.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask what a month of medication costs at the dose you would start on, since the $40 fee does not include it. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, which the clinic does not publish. Ask whether oral options are available and what they cost.
Ask whether the 3-month minimum applies to the weight loss membership or only to Direct Primary Care, and whether you must also join Direct Primary Care to enroll.
Ask what labs and follow-up visits will cost over the program. Ask whether your plan covers outside labs or prescriptions, since the FAQ says that may depend on your plan.
Confirm the address before you drive over. The contact page gives 25050 W Newberry Rd, but one FAQ answer gives 27214 W Newberry Road.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a local practice with monthly follow-up in person or by telehealth, and you are willing to cover visits and membership yourself, since it does not bill insurance for them. It is unable to provide services to Medicare beneficiaries, so Medicare patients should look elsewhere. It is worth a call if the questions above get clear answers.
