What is Pure Essence Center for Wellness and Aesthetics?
Pure Essence is a medical spa at 524 Wolcott Road in Wolcott, Connecticut. Google lists it under medical spa and shows a 4.9 rating from 54 reviews. Most of its menu is aesthetic and spa work, such as Botox, dermal fillers, Hydrafacials and laser treatments. Its medical side includes GLP-1 therapy, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, medical weight loss, IV therapy and chelation for heavy metal detox. It is open Monday through Friday until 6 or 7 PM and on Saturdays until 3 PM.
It does not name the physician or other prescriber for any of its programs, though it describes its team as licensed medical professionals. The only drug class it names is GLP-1 receptor agonists. In its own words: "GLP-1 Therapy at Pure Essence offers an advanced, physician-guided approach to weight management."
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for GLP-1 therapy, hormone therapy, medical weight loss or any other service, and it does not publish a consultation fee. It does not say whether medication is included in any program fee. Its membership has an initial term of twelve months. For payment, it points to a pay-later option run through Cherry Technologies, Inc., and states: "Payment options through Cherry Technologies, Inc. are issued by Cross River Bank, member FDIC." It does not say it accepts insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with who writes the prescription and what their credentials are, and get that name in writing before you pay anything. Ask whether the monthly weight loss price includes the medication, the consultation, lab work and follow-up visits, and ask for the full monthly total. Ask whether the GLP-1 medication is a brand-name product or a compounded version, and which pharmacy fills it. For hormone therapy, ask whether the hormones are compounded and who orders and reviews the blood work before and during treatment.
Ask whether the twelve-month membership applies to the weight loss programs, how you cancel or pause it, and whether a fee applies. Ask whether any visit can be done by telehealth, since it does not say. Ask whether HSA or FSA funds can be used, and what any financing costs.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are paying cash or through financing, can get to Wolcott for in-person visits, and want the prescriber's name, the full monthly cost and the cancellation terms in writing before you commit to a twelve-month membership. It is a harder call if you need a posted price list before booking, since none is published.

We have not yet collected published prices or prescriber credentials for this clinic. When we do, they will appear here with a link to the page they came from — or a note saying the clinic publishes none, which is itself worth knowing. Call them for a price in the meantime.
