About DeSorbo Health & Wellness

What is DeSorbo Health & Wellness?

DeSorbo Health & Wellness is a direct primary care practice in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Patients pay the clinic directly instead of billing an insurer. It has two offices, both in Glastonbury, sees patients in person, and offers in-home and telehealth visits when they suit the care. Its Google rating is 4.7 from 63 reviews.

Nick DeSorbo, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC is the only prescriber the clinic names. He is described as dually board-certified. Services include direct primary care, urgent care, medical weight loss, men's and women's hormone therapy, IV therapy, and aesthetic treatments such as EMSCULPT NEO, Botox, and laser hair removal.

The weight loss program is called UNWEIGHT. It includes check-ins every two weeks with a licensed nurse practitioner, nutrition and activity planning, and progress monitoring. Medication options are discussed when clinically appropriate, and GLP-1 medications are named. The practice works only with licensed 503A compounding pharmacies and does not sell or ship medication itself. It is LegitScript certified.

This listing is for its Glastonbury office at 69 Eastern Blvd.

What does it cost?

Memberships start at $75 a month. The fee covers all visits with no co-pays and no hidden fees, direct access by cell phone, text and messaging, and house calls. It does not say whether medication is part of that fee.

The clinic is inconsistent about consultations. Some of its material describes a free 15-minute call. Other material says consultations for hormone therapy, weight loss or facial aesthetics carry a nonrefundable $59 fee, which can be applied toward a purchase or the first month of membership.

It does not publish prices for medical weight loss or hormone therapy. Ask for the full price, with and without medication, before you book.

The clinic takes no insurance. Prices are the same for patients with and without insurance, and you will always have upfront pricing. In its own words: "DPC practices do not take insurance." No commitment or cancellation terms for membership are stated.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who will see you at each check-in and who will sign any prescription. The weight loss program lists check-ins with a nurse practitioner, and Nick DeSorbo is the named prescriber, so confirm whether those are the same person. Ask whether the GLP-1 medication would be compounded through one of its pharmacy partners or is a brand-name product, and what it costs each month on top of the program or membership fee.

Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost outside the membership, since the clinic does not say. Ask which consultation applies to you, the free call or the $59 fee, and get the answer in writing. Ask how a membership is cancelled and whether there is a commitment period.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want one nurse practitioner handling your primary care and your weight or hormone care, and you are ready to pay directly for visits, membership, and medication. If you need a published price for the weight loss program or hormone therapy before you call, you will have to ask for it, because none is posted.
