What is Why Weight?
Why Weight is a medical weight loss practice at 10268 W Centennial Road Suite 204 in Littleton, Colorado. The phone number is (720) 678-3000. Debra Salter, MD, is a board-certified obesity medicine specialist with over 30 years of experience in family practice. Wallace Salter, MD, is board certified in Family Medicine and has over 30 years of experience in family and emergency medicine. Both are prescribers at the practice.
Weight loss is the main service. In its own words: "Dedicated to helping you get off the weight-loss roller coaster." The physician-led program includes lab testing, an EKG when needed, and support from a weight loss educator. The practice also offers hormone replacement, nutritional management, evaluations for stress, sleep disorders and eating disorders, Verjú Green Laser body contouring, and skin care. Offices are open Wednesday through Saturday, with Sunday through Tuesday closed. Its Google listing shows a 4.9 rating from 34 reviews.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices, and it does not state a consultation fee. The program starts with a 45 minute screening visit that includes a physical exam. If you continue, you schedule and pay for two more visits. Patients are asked to register for a 6 month program after the first month, and the rates are lower when the program is bundled. The monthly options run from one provider visit a month to weekly visits, and each includes reduced-price Vitamin B-Complex injections. A la carte visits are available at unbundled rates. The clinic does not say whether insurance is accepted, whether medication is included in any price, or how cancellation works. Call the office for the full rate schedule before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription. The two named physicians are Debra Salter and Wallace Salter, so ask which of them would see you. Ask whether the monthly fee includes any medication, and if so, which one and whether it is brand-name or compounded. The clinic does not name a specific weight-loss medication. Ask what the lab work, the EKG and the Vitamin B-Complex injections cost on their own. Ask how the 6 month commitment can be cancelled and on what terms. Ask whether any visits can be done by video, since telehealth is not mentioned. Group lectures are virtual at this time, and weekly check-ins can be done by phone or email.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live in or near Littleton and want an in-person, physician-led program with scheduled visits and labs. If you live far from Littleton, the regular visit schedule may not be practical, so ask about video visits before you commit.
