What is Genesis MedSpa?
Genesis MedSpa is a medical spa at 142 S Raven Mine Dr, #250, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It has operated since 2007. Most of what it offers is cosmetic: facials and lasers, fillers, body contouring, laser hair removal, waxing, and neurotoxin injections such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin. What does it cost?
The first consultation is free. The clinic does not publish prices for Lipotrim or GPL1 injections. It also does not say whether medication is part of any program fee, or whether it accepts insurance.
Some prices are published. Botox is $12 per unit, Xeomin is $12 per unit, and Dysport is $4.75 per unit. The membership, called The Vault, costs $160 a month. Each payment becomes credit you can spend on services and products. Payments are non-refundable and have no cash value. Members get 10% off treatments, but weight loss medication is excluded from that discount. Members pay $10 per unit for Jeuveau, $12 for Botox and $4.25 for Dysport.
The membership requires a four-month commitment. After that it continues month to month until you cancel with 30 days' written notice. You can freeze it once every six months at no charge for up to 90 days. If a payment fails and you do not fix it within 10 business days, the membership is canceled, and rejoining costs $99. Unused credit can be used for 60 days after cancellation.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription for GPL1 and Lipotrim, and what license that person holds. Ask whether the monthly fee covers the medication, and if it does not, what each injection costs. Ask what GPL1 is, whether it is a brand-name drug or a compounded product, and where it comes from. Ask what visits, follow-up and lab work cost, and whether any of it can be done by telehealth, which the clinic does not address. Ask whether you must hold the membership to join the weight program, and whether any of the $160 applies to medication, since weight loss medication is excluded from the discount. Finally, ask how cancellation works for each service, and get your last billing date in writing.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want weight treatment in the same office as the cosmetic services you already use, and you are willing to get the prescriber, the medication and the monthly total in writing before you pay. If those answers are not clear, the clinic may still suit aesthetic work, but you should not commit to the weight program until you have them.
