About Misra Wellness
What is Misra Wellness?
Misra Wellness is a membership practice built on Direct Primary Care, which means a flat monthly fee for ongoing care from one physician. The practice is virtual-first and serves patients in California and New York. It also has offices in Los Angeles and New York City. Sulagna Misra, MD, BCMAS, MSCP, is the physician who prescribes at the practice. The clinic describes her as triple board-certified in internal medicine, integrative medicine, and menopause care.
The practice offers Direct Primary Care, Medical Weight Loss, Menopause and Hormone Health, Men's Health, Integrative Medicine, and a 90-minute "Why Do I Feel This Way?" consultation. It also lists à la carte consultations, supplements and IV services, NAD+ and NAC injections, and an iron infusion program. For weight loss, the medications named are semaglutide and tirzepatide. On the weight loss page, the clinic puts it this way: "Not a vending machine for prescriptions; a real plan." The practice has a 5.0 rating from 19 Google reviews.
This listing is for its Tarzana office at 18740 Ventura Blvd #204.
What does it cost?
Care is self-pay. The practice does not bill insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Each membership starts with an initial consult and then a flat monthly fee. Medical Weight Loss is $149 a month plus a $250 initial consult. Men's Health is also $149 a month plus a $250 initial consult. Full DPC membership, which includes menopause and hormone care, is $249 a month plus a $350 initial consult.
Medication is not included in the weight loss membership. Semaglutide runs $145 to $199, and tirzepatide runs $145 to $295. The combination of tirzepatide and semaglutide runs $299 to $499 a month for select patients. A $17.50 cold-shipping fee applies from May through October. Membership cancellation requires a written request with at least thirty days' notice.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask for the full monthly cost, including medication and shipping, because the membership fee does not cover the drug. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, since the practice says its price depends on which one is appropriate for you. Ask which medication and dose you would be offered, and when that gets decided. The practice says this is confirmed at the meet and greet and the initial consult.
The weight loss page says the $250 consult applies toward your first month if you are a medical candidate and choose to proceed. Ask how that credit shows up on your first bill. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost on top of the membership.
You cannot book a visit directly. You send a request through the contact form for a free 15-minute meet and greet, and the practice follows up by call, text, or email. Ask who writes your prescription and how often you will see Dr. Misra after the first visit. You must be physically in California or New York at the time of each visit. Confirm that before you pay.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live in California or New York, can be physically there for each visit, and want one physician you can message and see by video on a flat monthly plan. It is a poor match if you need insurance billing or expect the monthly fee to cover your medication. Ask those questions before you book.
