About SPARK HEALTH
What is Spark Health?
Spark Health is a naturopathic clinic at 124 Lomas Sante Fe Dr, Ste. 206, in Solana Beach, California. Its listed prescribers are Dr. Jennifer Zeglen, Clinic Director and Naturopathic Doctor, and Dr. Shacy Rivera, Naturopathic Doctor. Neither carries an MD or DO credential. The practice was founded in 2013 and can be reached at (858) 228 4188. Its Google rating is 4.9 across 183 reviews, and Google categorizes it as a naturopathic practitioner.
Weight loss is one of several services. In its own words: "At Spark Health, we offer the compounded versions of Semaglutide and Tirzepatide weight loss injections." The other services include a menopause program using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), hormone health, digestive issues, IV therapy and vitamin injections, a la carte testing, microneedling facials, and care for chronic and undiagnosed conditions. It does not list peptide therapy or a longevity program. The office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with a closure from 12 to 1pm. It does not say whether telehealth visits are offered.
What does it cost?
Weight loss injections start at $299 a month for compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide. The tirzepatide price carries an added shipping fee. The monthly price includes one doctor visit, quarterly labs, and a one-month supply of medication. Each dose level up adds about $50 a month. Oral semaglutide, in tablet or liquid form, starts at $349 a month.
The no-medication program begins with a $375 initial consultation, and the recommended testing is extra. A September promotion takes 25% off the first month for people who have not been enrolled in the past three months, and it offers a free initial visit with the provider. Two different first-visit offers are published, so ask which one applies. The clinic is cash only, but it will give you a superbill to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement. Packages carry no guarantee of effectiveness and no refunds. It does not publish a price for its hormone or menopause program.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription. Both listed prescribers are naturopathic doctors, so ask whether a medical doctor (MD or DO) signs off on the injections. Ask whether the $299 covers the medication every month or only the visit. Ask who compounds the medication and where it is made. The practice can prescribe the brand-name version if your insurance covers it, so ask what that would involve for you.
Ask which first visit applies, the $375 consultation or the free visit. Mention the promotion when you schedule, since it must be raised at booking to be applied, and ask whether the three-month rule affects you. Ask what labs and extra visits cost outside the package, and what cancelling involves, given that packages carry no refunds. Ask whether telehealth is available and what the menopause program costs.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a cash-pay clinic in Solana Beach where naturopathic doctors run weight loss injections with monthly visits and quarterly labs, and you are comfortable getting the prescriber, pricing, and cancellation terms in writing before you pay. If you need a medical doctor to prescribe, or a telehealth visit, ask first.
