About CENTRAL COAST MEN'S HEALTH

What is Coastal Well Woman?

Coastal Well Woman is a women's health practice at 334 S. Patterson Ave., Suite 201, Santa Barbara, CA 93111. Its main focus is menopause, and it lists six services: Perimenopause, Menopause, Hormone Health, Sexual Health, Weight Management and Longevity. It does not name the clinician who prescribes, and it does not say when it opened. Google lists it at 4.8 from 17 reviews, under the category Medical clinic.

It offers visits in person and by telehealth. In its own words: "At Coastal Well Woman we offer both in-person and telehealth services for your convenience."

Weight management is one service within a menopause practice. Its blog lists FDA-approved weight-loss medications, including semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (ZepBound), and says a GLP-1 agonist may be explored as part of a treatment plan.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices or a consultation fee, so you will need to call (805) 455-4425 to get numbers. It does not accept medical insurance, but it will provide a superbill on request. In its own words: "As a fee-for-service practice we accept all major credit cards, HSA accounts, cash and Square. Payment is expected at time of service."

It does not say whether medication is included in any fee.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the prescription. The clinic does not name the prescriber, so get that name before you pay anything.

Ask whether weight-loss medication is prescribed in-house, and whether any monthly fee covers the drug itself. The clinic does not say either.

Ask whether each medication is brand-name or compounded. Its blog says it sometimes uses compounding pharmacies, and its testosterone article describes off-label use, often as a compounded cream. If testosterone comes up, ask about that directly.

Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, and what Longevity includes, since the clinic does not describe that service.

If you live outside California, ask which states its telehealth covers. The clinic does not say.

Ask how cancellation and rescheduling work. Those terms are not published.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want menopause-focused care, are ready to pay out of pocket with no insurance billing, and want a phone call to confirm the price, the prescriber and the medication terms before you book. It is a poor match if you need a price on the page before you call, or if you expect insurance to cover the visits.
