About Medical Age Management
What is Medical Age Management?
Medical Age Management is a cash-pay practice at 3911 Normal St., San Diego, CA 92103, phone (619) 795-6700. It calls itself a center for natural, aesthetic and restorative medicine, and most of its work is anti-aging and skin care: Botox and Dysport, fillers, platelet rich plasma and skincare treatments. Darren Farnesi, MD, APC, is the one person named as its prescriber.
It also offers a Weight Management Program built on semaglutide and tirzepatide, Hormone Replacement, and at-home wellness tests. It talks about age management medicine throughout its materials but does not list peptide therapy as a service. It does sell a supplement it calls Performance Peptides through its online store.
Hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, with after-hours and weekend visits by appointment. Blood draws are closed from 12:00pm to 1:30pm Monday through Thursday. On Google it is rated 5 from 129 reviews, listed as a medical clinic.
What does it cost?
Injectables start at $325 a month, and oral options start at $179 a month. The clinic does not say whether medication is included in either price. Its program fee covers weekly in-office injections for local patients on injectable plans only, monthly telemedicine coaching and follow-ups, all routine lab work, supplies such as needles, syringes and sharps disposal, a 10% supplement discount, and educational newsletters.
It does not publish a consultation fee, does not say whether it accepts insurance, and gives no commitment or cancellation terms for the weight program. A monthly article mentions custom facials for $100, but no other service prices appear. Ask for each price before you book.
In its own words: "Your safety is always our top priority. This program may not be appropriate for everyone."
What should you ask before you book?
Start with eligibility. The weight program lists conditions where it should not be used, including a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2, and asks for caution with a history of pancreatitis. It says to call or text 619-795-6700 to request an intake form and determine eligibility. Ask for that before you pay anything.
Then ask whether the monthly price includes the medication, and whether the drug is brand-name or compounded. Ask who signs the prescription and who handles follow-up between monthly calls. Ask what counts as routine lab work and what extra tests cost. Ask whether changing your dose changes the monthly price. Ask whether insurance is billed, and how to cancel, including any minimum number of months. For hormone replacement and skin treatments, ask for prices up front.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want aesthetic treatments, hormone replacement and a GLP-1 weight program under one local practice, you are comfortable paying cash, and you will ask the questions above before committing. It is a weaker match if you need insurance billing or full pricing for every service, since neither is stated.
