About Human Longevity

What is Human Longevity?

Human Longevity is a diagnostics and longevity medicine practice with locations in San Diego and South San Francisco, founded in 2013 by Dr. J. Craig Venter. Its core business is screening, not weight loss: whole genome sequencing, whole body MRI, and tiered annual programs called Executive Health, 100+ Care, and 100+ Concierge that combine imaging, bloodwork, and physician review. Weight loss medication does come up, but only inside its 100+ programs: an educational article on the site states that "our clinic is dedicated to providing the right care for our 100+ members whether you are considering or currently using GLP-1 agonist medications," naming Wegovy®, Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, and Rybelsus® as the drugs in question. There is no separate hormone therapy or peptide therapy program named. Members get a clinician who can discuss candidacy for these medications and a care plan built around the imaging and lab monitoring already part of the program, rather than a GLP-1 clinic run on its own.

This listing is for its San Diego office at 4570 Executive Dr.

What does it cost?

Genomics, the entry point, is $599 one time, covering whole genome sequencing, pharmacogenomics, and Longevity AI app access. Executive Health runs $8,000 a year and adds whole body MRI, brain MRI, hundreds of blood biomarkers, echocardiogram and EKG, DEXA, and a calcium score, with clinician review. 100+ Care is $12,000 a year and adds a continuous glucose monitor, Zio patch monitoring, Cologuard, low-dose CT of the lung, and cardiac MRI. 100+ Concierge, the tier where GLP-1 medication guidance is described, is $19,000 a year and adds GRAIL liquid biopsy, AMRA MRI body composition, subspecialty consults, and a concierge primary care physician. None of these prices state whether an actual GLP-1 prescription or the medication itself is included, and no separate fee is published for that part of care.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask directly whether a GLP-1 prescription is included in the 100+ Concierge fee or billed separately, and whether that includes the cost of the medication itself. Ask who on the care team writes the prescription and what credentials that person holds, since the practice does not name a prescriber on its pages. Ask whether you need to enroll in 100+ Care or 100+ Concierge specifically to get GLP-1 management, or whether Executive Health members can access it too. It is also worth asking whether visits can be done by telehealth or require you to be seen in San Diego or South San Francisco, and what the membership term and cancellation policy look like for a program billed annually at this price.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit for someone who wants a full diagnostic workup, genomic sequencing, and ongoing monitoring, and who would value having a physician team weigh in on GLP-1 use as one piece of that larger picture. It is a poor fit for someone looking only for a straightforward weight loss prescription at a predictable monthly cost, since that is not what is published here.
