What is Serene Skin Studio?
Serene Skin Studio is a medical spa at 1700 McHenry Avenue Suite 60 in Modesto, California, with phone (209) 882 7690. Its main work is cosmetic: neurotoxin injections, fillers, Kybella, Sculptra, microneedling and laser hair removal. Weight loss is one of its services, using semaglutide and tirzepatide injections. It also lists vitamin injections, glutathione IV drips, NAD subcutaneous injections and PRP hair restoration. It is open Monday to Thursday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It has a 4.9 rating on Google from 57 reviews.
Co-owner Michael Illingworth, MD, is the one person named as a prescriber. The clinic describes him as an OBGYN with over three decades of experience who has moved into aesthetics. His co-owner, Navjot Sanghera, is a CRNA, which the clinic also calls a nurse anesthesiologist. Sanghera is not named as a prescriber.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for weight loss or any other service. Nothing says whether the medication is included in a fee, what a consultation costs, or whether insurance is accepted. It does offer payment plans through Cherry and Affirm, and it invites visitors to become members for offers, but the membership terms and cancellation rules are not given. Ask for every number in writing before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with who writes the prescription. The clinic's weight loss information does not name a prescriber, so ask whether Dr. Illingworth prescribes and whether he reviews your history before any injection. Then ask about the medication itself. In its own words: "Semaglutide is a compounded prescription medication that, when combined with diet and exercise, helps adults with weight management." The same material says the FDA does not approve or monitor compounded medications for safety or efficacy. Ask which pharmacy makes it, what testing it has, and whether tirzepatide is also compounded, since that page does not say.
Ask whether the monthly price includes the medication, and what visits, lab work and dose changes cost, since the tirzepatide information says the dose may be gradually increased in the early weeks. Ask how the clinic screens for the conditions its own semaglutide information lists as reasons not to take it, such as a history of pancreatitis. Ask whether telehealth is offered, because the clinic does not say. Finally, ask what a payment plan costs in total and how to cancel a membership or a plan.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want weight loss medication at a Modesto office that also offers cosmetic treatments, and you are willing to get prices, prescriber details and the medication's source in writing before you pay. If you want a weight loss clinic that publishes its fees and names its prescriber up front, call first and ask those questions before you book.

We have not yet collected published prices or prescriber credentials for this clinic. When we do, they will appear here with a link to the page they came from — or a note saying the clinic publishes none, which is itself worth knowing. Call them for a price in the meantime.
