About Peak IV Regenerative Medicine

What is Peak IV Regenerative Medicine?

Peak IV Regenerative Medicine is a clinic at 437 Old Mammoth Rd Suite 162 in Mammoth Lakes, California. Its main business is IV hydration and wellness. Most of the menu is spa-style: IV drips, an oxygen bar, infrared sauna, compression and vibration therapy, Botox, chemical peels and microneedling. Its medical services are a weight loss clinic, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), peptide therapy and a functional medicine consultation. The home page also advertises testosterone therapy.

The peptide page names three medications: CJC-1295, BPC-157 and GHK-Cu. Two physicians are named as prescribers. Kim Escudero, M.D., is a board-certified pediatrician and IFMCP certified Functional Medicine physician who has been caring for patients for over 25 years. Michael M. Karch, M.D., is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who has practiced at Mammoth Hospital since 2003. The clinic is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It offers telemed appointments and is rated 5 on Google from 57 reviews.

What does it cost?

The weight loss clinic charges a $150 initial consultation, which must be in person, and a $325 monthly membership. The membership note says medication needs are based on your history and physical exam. It does not say whether medication is included in the $325.

HRT and peptide therapy each list $300 for a 60-minute consultation and $150 per follow-up. Peptides are billed separately, and HRT medication prices are not published. Most IV drips fall between $150 and $200 a session, and NAD+ therapy is listed at $250 and $450.

It does not say whether it accepts insurance. It also does not describe cancellation terms for the membership.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $325 membership covers medication or whether the drug is billed on top of it. Ask for the full monthly total in writing.

Ask whether any medication is brand-name or compounded. The clinic describes its products as compounds sourced from FDA inspected pharmacies, so ask which of its prescription products fall into that group.

Ask which physician will sign your prescription and whether follow-up visits can be done by telemed. The weight loss consultation requires an in-person visit. Ask what follow-up visits, lab work and refills cost each month.

Ask how to cancel the membership and how much notice is required. In its own words, the HRT page says: "Call today to see if you are an appropriate candidate for HRT." Call (760) 923-8991 and ask what that first call involves and whether it counts toward the consultation fee.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want in-person, physician-supervised care in Mammoth Lakes and are willing to pin down the medication cost before you commit. It is a weaker fit if you want a published monthly total before you book, or mainly want IV drips and spa services, since the medical side is a smaller part of the clinic.
