What is RefinedMD?
RefinedMD is a physician-led practice at 800 Pollard Road, Building A, in Los Gatos, CA 95032. It was established in 2012. Its homepage describes it as facial plastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology, and Google lists it as a plastic surgery clinic, so that is what the practice mainly is. Weight loss is one of its services, alongside hormone replacement, peptide therapy, regenerative medicine, hyperbaric oxygen, IV therapy and a long list of injectable and laser treatments. It does not name a longevity medicine service.
The clinicians it lists as prescribers are Dr. Steven Swengel, MD, a board-certified dermatologist; Dr. Sudeep Roy, MD, a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon; Dr. Katie Given; Alexandra Clancy, PA-C; and Rachelle O'Neill, RN. Its pages do not say which of them provides weight loss or hormone care.
The office is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Saturday visits by calling ahead, and it is closed Sundays and holidays. The phone number is (408) 688-2082. It has a 4.8 Google rating from 461 reviews. It does not say whether it offers telehealth.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for weight loss, hormone or peptide care, and it does not publish a consultation fee. It also does not say whether medication is included or whether it accepts insurance. The only prices on its pages are for promotions: four hyperbaric oxygen treatments for $1,200 against a $1,800 regular value, and 20% off one of five popular IV options when booked on a Thursday or Friday.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with who prescribes. Its own page says the process begins with a consultation with one of its providers, who reviews your medical history and discusses your weight loss goals. So ask which clinician would sign your prescription, and who handles your follow-up after that.
Ask whether the program price includes the medication, the first visit, follow-up visits and lab work, and what each costs if it is not included. Ask whether semaglutide and tirzepatide are brand-name products or compounded versions. The same question applies to the peptides named on the site, such as BPC-157 and TB-500. Ask what each one is and where it comes from.
Finally, ask about the consultation fee, whether insurance is accepted, whether follow-up can be done by telehealth, and how cancellation works, including any membership term.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want weight loss or hormone care from a practice that also does cosmetic surgery and dermatology, and you are ready to confirm who prescribes and what the medication costs before you book. If you want a practice whose main business is metabolic or hormone medicine, compare it with clinics that describe that focus on their own pages.
