What is Emerge medical aesthetics?
Emerge medical aesthetics is a medical aesthetics practice in Folsom, California, at 715 Sutter St. Suite C in the Opera House area. Google lists it as a medical spa, and it has a 5 rating from 21 reviews. Most of its services are cosmetic: laser hair removal, laser skin renewal, pulsed light therapy, neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Medical weight loss and hormone optimization is also on the services list, but it is one of six services, not the main focus. In its own words: "Above all, listening to and analyzing their concerns."
Michael Fargusson, MD, is the medical director and the only person the practice names as a prescriber. He is board certified in emergency medicine. Nicole Borrowdale is co-founder and operations director, with a background in dentistry, patient care and aesthetics. The practice is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Visits are by appointment only. The phone number is (916) 243-5059.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. It does not list a consultation fee, and it does not say whether it accepts insurance or offers HSA or financing options. It also does not name any medications used in the weight loss or hormone program, so there is no way to tell what a monthly program would cost or what it would include. Ask for every price in writing before you book, including the first visit, any follow-up visits and any lab work.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who reviews your history and writes any weight loss or hormone prescription, and whether Dr. Fargusson is the person who does that. Ask which medications the program uses and whether they are brand-name or compounded. Ask what is included in the program fee, whether the medication is part of it, and what lab work and follow-up visits cost on top of that.
Ask whether any part of the program can be handled by telehealth, since the practice does not say. Ask how the program is cancelled, whether there is a contract or minimum term, and how long the practice has been open. If you plan to use insurance or a health savings account for any part of your care, ask that directly too.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are mainly looking for one of the aesthetic treatments and want to ask about a weight loss or hormone program alongside it. If you want that program explained in detail before you commit, call first, because it does not describe the program in detail.

We have not yet collected published prices or prescriber credentials for this clinic. When we do, they will appear here with a link to the page they came from — or a note saying the clinic publishes none, which is itself worth knowing. Call them for a price in the meantime.
