About Lux Lab Aesthetics

What is Lux Lab Aesthetics?

Lux Lab Aesthetics is a medical spa at 7790 N Oracle Rd Suite 100 in Oro Valley, Arizona. It says it serves Oro Valley, Tucson and Marana, and its hours are 09:00 am to 05:00 pm. Most of its work is aesthetic: Botox, Dysport and Daxxify, dermal fillers, Sculptra, the LaseMD Ultra laser, SkinPen microneedling, chemical peels and facials. Its menu groups services under injectables, facials and skincare, laser treatments and wellness services. Medical weight loss sits under wellness services, next to vitamin injections such as B-12 and NAD+. It also lists hair restoration and skincare for sale. Its Google listing shows a 5 rating from 141 reviews.

The clinic names one prescriber, Adriana Medeiros, FNP-C, who founded the practice and is listed as its owner. It does not say which provider handles the weight loss care. It also does not name the specific GLP-1 medication it uses. In its own words: "Our medical weight loss programs utilize GLP-1 medications."

What does it cost?

The weight loss consultation is $100. If you do not bring recent labs, the clinic will draw them in its office for an additional $150. The labs must be from within the last 3 months. The required panel is a CBC, CMP, lipid panel, HGBA1C and TSH.

GLP-1 injections are listed with a starting price of $250 for the tier labeled GLP1 and $350 for the tier labeled GLP2. Pricing depends on dosing, and treatment is recommended for 3 to 12 months. It does not say whether those figures include the medication itself, or whether they are per visit, weekly or monthly.

It does not list insurance as accepted. It does say HSA and FSA cards are accepted for GLP-1 injections, and it lists financing, but it does not publish the financing terms. Its aesthetic memberships are separate from the weight loss program. Lux Gold is $150/month for 5% savings on services and retail, and Lux Platinum is $250/month for 10% savings. Both carry a 6 month commitment.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes the prescription and who sees you at follow-up, since the clinic names one prescriber but does not say who manages weight loss care. Ask which GLP-1 medication you would receive, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. Ask whether the $250 or $350 figure covers the medication, and whether it is charged per visit, weekly or monthly.

Ask what follow-up visits and repeat labs cost, and whether the $150 in-office draw covers all five required tests. Ask whether the $100 consultation goes toward your program. Ask whether any part of the program is done by telehealth, since the clinic does not say. Finally, ask how cancellation works for the medication program, and whether it has a commitment period like the 6 month membership.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want aesthetic treatments and a weight loss program under one roof, and you are comfortable getting written prices and a cancellation policy before you pay. If weight loss is the only reason you are calling, ask first how central that program is to this practice.
