What is Aesthetics & Weightloss?
Aesthetics & Weightloss is a cash-pay clinic at 3 Mobile Infirmary Circle, Suite 312, Mobile, AL 36607. The phone number is 251-433-7546. Lawrence Carpenter, M.D. is the physician who prescribes. He completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency, has been a partner in Mobile Bay OBGYN since 1998, and is a member of the American Academy of Bariatric Physicians. He has also trained in weight loss medicine and skin care.
Skin care makes up most of the service list: BOTOX Cosmetics, facial fillers, chemical peels, hair removal, micro needling, laser vein treatments for legs, and many smaller procedures. Medical weight loss and hormone therapy are the other two programs. The clinic does not name any peptide or longevity services.
The weight loss program starts with an initial visit that includes a history and physical exam, weight and body fat measurements, nutritional counseling, vitamin supplements, injections, a one-month supply of a fat burner, and prescription medication that varies by patient. Follow-up visits are weekly and include weight, blood pressure and an injection. The clinic names GLP-1 medication. Renee Wheeler, a Certified Medical Assistant, handles the weekly weigh-ins and gives injections.
What does it cost?
The only prices published are for two add-on injections. MIC/Vitamin B12 is $10 each or 4 for $30. The Turbo injection, which contains MIC, carnitine, adenosine and B12, is $20 each or 4 for $60. The clinic does not publish a price for the weight loss program, the initial consultation or hormone therapy. It does not say whether prescription medication is included in any fee. It advertises hormone therapy at as little as 83 cents a day but does not say what that covers. It does not say whether insurance is accepted, and no financing or HSA option is listed. Ask for the full price of each program before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes each prescription, since Dr. Carpenter is the only prescriber the clinic names. Ask whether the weight loss fee includes medication, whether the GLP-1 medication is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. For hormone therapy, the clinic describes pellet procedures, so ask what the first consultation and blood work cost, how often the treatment is repeated, and what each repeat costs. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost on top of the program, and whether there is a cancellation fee. Appointments cannot be booked, changed or cancelled through the website, so cancellation means a phone call. Telehealth is not mentioned, so ask whether any visit can be done remotely. The hours also differ between the footer and the contact page (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. versus 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday), so confirm which applies.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want skin treatments and medical weight loss or hormone therapy under one physician, you are ready to pay cash, and you want the full price in writing before you commit. If you are looking for peptide or longevity medicine, this clinic does not name those services, so ask whether they are offered before you call.
